The urban sub woofer crowd is most annoying. Glad it didn't work.
Tuesday is jam night at my house and I have a 210 watt bass amp, so I don't mind volume. But some of these guys are just absurd.

If You have the right amp(s), and speakers, you can get a sub with the correct frequency response to blend smoothly and seamlessly with your door speakers as i have done.

I have a 600 watt amp with a band pass filter built in. So you can put in full range frequency and exclude everything but bass and subsonic frequencies. It is Phoenix Xenon 600.1 which i am no longer using and will sell it for $125 if you need it.

i find it funny when people talk about "that" kind of bass..bass is nothing but low end frequecies in all music..it completes music, makes it whole..i have 3 jl 8w3s in my jackwell..sounds amazing top or top down..if you love music then there isnt any specific car that should or shouldnt have subs..

Couldn't agree more. Its a sports car not a full size sedan or SUV. I worked at an auto shop part time in high school worse job ever. I hated seein beautiful corvettes and other sports cars on big wheels and bumping.

Are you connecting the sub by the speaker wires or by RCA? If by speaker wires, check to make sure you have both left and right set up correctly regarding the positive and ground. I have seen this happen before when a friend of mine had the exact same issue...it would create sound but was not loud. We found out that he had reversed the polarity on the left rear speaker that the sub hooked up to. After that was fixed, it sounded fine.
