Audio question.

Is there a way to get the external radio controls
to work with a McIntosh MX406?

When I bought my car 8 months ago the previous owner already had a very nice aftermarket stereo making the stock controls non-functional. I'm thinking about re-purposing them for a grenade launcher or passenger ejection seat button. That way I can loose the girl friend the next time she complains about me driving too fast.

Since it doesn't have it's own remote capability, no you can't get the remote contols to work with it.

That would definitely be a requirement. If you do find one with remote capability then choose a DCI and read up on the DCI's compatibility list.

McIntosh is pretty boutique. Did you already buy it, Doug? I think it would be difficult to use that HU to it's max potential in our cars.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet. I just love the way it looks.

Sorry Doug but I got an Audio ? as well so I'm adding to your thread instead of making a new one.

I know with the S there are limited stereo systems we can have in our car based on space and the stereo cover. My ? is, is there a touch screen any size with Bluetooth capability as well as ipod/dvd capability that will fit in the S and do I have to keep the stereo cover on there?

If so please add links of steroes that will work, and cost not looking to spend more then 500.00 on the stereo b/c also upgrading speakers at time of purchase,so stereo budget in max 500.00, less is appreciated if quality is still there.
