Question seat belt oopsie~newbie

Hi,

I got my passenger side seat belt caught in the seat adjuster level...BIG OOPS. The seat belt retracted back to its snail shell (reel) and won't come out again....AM I going to have to remove the seat to untangle the seat belt? Is there a way to open the seat belt reel? What to do?
Help help!

Since it's a safety related problem there is no warranty expiration. Take it to a dealer and get it fixed under warranty.

I never heard that but it makes perfect sense.

i think this might fall under the "oh sh!t" clause of the warranty:

if you said "oh sh!t" when it happened, it's not covered under warranty. saw this thread on s2kca, not sure what the right answer is.

good luck man.

i know you're right on with the safety issue, phil. i'm just worried that this isn't a safety issue because someone had to do something to put the seatbelt under the seat and what not.

try this zippy:

accelerate quickly to 40 or so, then brake very quickly. the driver seatbelt should latch and not extend. see if that will loosen the other seatbelt up.

That might do it, but Honda lawyers would say to do this at the track under controlled conditions...
