aftermarket component door speakers
Ok so I noticed while replacing a clip behind the door panel that our OEM tweeters have a mini harness plug that connects them to I guess the woofer harness?
Anyway, I have been thinking about getting some Infinity 2-way components but am not sure A) if the tweeters can be easily mounted in the same fashion as OEM ones; and B) if OEM has some type of crossover; if so, how do you bypass it to use the Infinity one, and if not - where would be the best spot to put it? |

Kalm,
What year do you have? I put some Infinitys in my 02 no problem. The OEM system does not have a true crossover. Just rip them out and put in the Infinitys. |

I have an MY02. How did you set up the Infinity's crossover? Where on the wires I mean, and is there a good spot to stuff it?

Get door panels from a later model which have separate tweeter grills. I replaced mine with 2004 panels. Use the crossovers which come with the speakers or get an amp with built in active crossovers. In my experience active always sounds better than passive. Active requires more wire but you don't need to mount the passive crossovers.

Active vs passive
Are you saying use a 4-ch amp and run the tweets and woofs as separate channels?

Think thats what he was going for... Also if you get the door pannel off there is a nice easy like cove for the crossover to sit in, Almost looks like it is made to go there at least mine was. Fit perfect I attached it by some high adhesive velcro

Also, if I had to do it over again, I would leave the crossovers in the trunk and run 2-pair wire to the doors! |

Why would you put the crossovers in the trunk, just curious? |
