HD Radio Tuner?

I am preparing to install my new stereo stuff and I still have a few unanswered questions. I have searched but couldn't really find anything. I purchased an additional HD radio tuner but I have no idea where to mount/hide it. Anybody done this? Anybody have any ideas? I would really appriecaite your advice.
Thanks

What kind HD radio do you have? How big is it? I have seen a small display unit mounted next to the radio door on the passenger side.

I have a Kenwood KDC-X693 HU and I also purchased the KTC-HR300 HD radio tuner. It is 6-1/2"W X 1-3/8"H X 4-5/16"D. I am looking for tips from someone who has "already" done this type of installation. Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, etc. all have one. I'm trying to find out what others have done.

First of all, why would you want to listen to the radio anymore? You just get assaulted and bombarded with commercials and advertisements. All the time. The Dj's won't shut up, the radio stations keep telling you what station your listening to (even though you know what station your on), and some songs are cut down.

For example, here in the Los Angeles area, we used to have a station called Movin 93.9 with radio personality Rick Dees. (The station played songs that would make you wanna move, workout songs, 80's songs, 90's songs, R&B etc.) This is what Rick Dees would say in the morning.

Rick: "Hi, your listening to Rick Dees in the morning on Movin 939, only on Movin 939. Right now we have Stacy Q on Movin 939, with me Rick Dees on Movin 939. Did I mention Movin 939? I think I might have forgotten that Movin 939 is on Movin 939. So yeah, my name is Rick Dees on Movin 939, on Movin 939, while Movin 939ing ONLY on Movin 939!!!!"

No joke. All that was said within 2 minutes of air time. The format was changed and now Movin 93.9 is gone.

The commercials are all the same. Stupid PSA's (in so cal, make sure you save water, stop smoking, and save water! ON MOVIN 93- er......), brainwashing jingles, and car commercials up the yin yang. Come to think of it, does anybody here know someone whose bought a car based on an ad they heard on the radio? I know I haven't. Speaking of car commercials, do you want to buy a Mercedes benz? How about a Mercedes Benz? Looking for a Mercedes Benz? Try out our Mercedes Benz on MOVIN 9-err. Bmw anyone? Bmw? Bmw. Bmw. Go to this bank, eat at this restaurant, and so on.

J'sS2K is smart here. Wire up a mp3 player to your radio. Listen to your music with no ads. Do yourself a favor and return your HD radio.

-From a guy whose been listening to the radio for years (about 5 hours a day, but number been dropping off more and more, cause of Mercedes Benz.).

I love my radio! I have a short commute, but I enjoy my Mark & Brian in the morning, and if I need a chuckle, I tune in Rush or Dr Laura. I lean left, but I still crack up when I listen to them. Nothing wrong with comedy radio.

When I bought my car a yer ago, it has an after market tuner that is XM ready. But I figured I won't listen enough to justify the subscription.

You have a point in that Mark and Brian are funny, and there is nothing wrong with comedy radio, but I cannot STAND the ads. I have a stock radio and CANNOT WAIT until I pop that sucker out, instal a radio with an AUX in port, and JAM ON IT with my Ipod/PSP stuff.

Take my advice. Return your HD radio receiver. Get $. Be ! It's so easy a caveman can do it!
You say your commute is short. Why do you need your radio in HiDef? Do you get lots of static where you live? Do you like to be advertised to in HiDef?

1. Return.
2. Get money.
3. Rub money on self.
