And then there was NOOB!

Hello, I am Yash.
I have just purchased a 2003, one owner, 45,000 mile, Carfax guaranteed buyback, S2000

I am very happy. I am very happy because not only do I love this freaking car I also got it for a steal. I have been lurking in various S2000 forums and amongst the wilds of the online classified services looking for the perfect S2000 at least perfect for me that is
I had looked at 1700 of them online in just about every state in the CONUS.
I had faxes from several states and phone calls from lots of dealers when I just happen to notice a super clean, one owner specimen at a Porsche dealership. Technically it was a: Bentley, Aston Martin, Maserati, Porsche, Mercedes dealership, you know all those really affordable brands
Anyway I thought hmm maybe these guys look at this car as something the help will drive the garbage down to the curb in and will not realize its true value, and of course it was so. WOOHOO!
To make a long story short I packed the wife into the 300+ (possibly 400) horse power, psychotically modified MazdaSpeed Protege and we headed off 80+ miles to Porsche dealer. So on the way I get a phone call from the salesman telling me his boss had given him until the end of the month (today) to get, "That damn little, cheap car off his lot as it was making the place look bad!" I acted unconcerned with his predicament and made the statement, well I don't like those wheels very much and I'm not really sure I want it, his response was to say, I will cut you a deal. I said, I will give you 13 grand. He accepted.
So I showed up test and drove the heck out of it, as did he, the salesman was a great driver btw and we both proceeded to spank that little Japanese sum-bitch all over the side streets of North D-town.
So I bought it for 4500.00 under Kelly Bluebook and drove away a happy man, well almost happy as the wife got to drive the 80 miles home and suddenly her lovely, little turbo bug wasn't quite as lovely as it had been pre-S2000

So hello...I am Yash how the heck are you?

Laters...

Yes, agreed and I will rectify this most grievous over-site manyana!
It was dark by the time I got home. The car is immaculate, I mean virgin Mary in her Sunday best immaculate.
There, that will hopefully appease anyone who was religiously perturbed by my analogy.

I kind of thought it had been painted I just washed it and the paint looked newer than 03 so it gave me reason to speculate. Oh well, it has a Carfax buyback guarantee on it so if they did miss something it's on them.
I love the car so I really don't think I care that is has fresh paint
And tell Tony, thanks for taking such good care of the car.

The Porsche dealer added the wheels because somebody wanted a set of stock S2000 wheels. There are new Potenza RE960's on them.
Did homeboy AKA Tony buy a Porsche?
I looked like I was there to take out the trash, LOL.
Basura? Gracias...

They had an new GT3 in the showroom, drool...

I am not surprised they missed something. I was going for a MazdaSpeed Miata first and even though some of them only had 28,000 miles or so on them my buddy has a Mazda login and he can see what has been done to them by Mazda which does not show up on Carfax.
We were shocked at the level of carnage that did not show up on the Carfax report. One 28,000 mile model had 3 tranny's replaced and Mazda voided the power-train warranty because of MASSIVE abuse.
Now it had not been wrecked but it had been mechanically a$$raped.
There was another one with even lower miles that had 3 fuels pumps, two turbos, two exhasut manifolds, and a slew of other parts it was just a lemon but it was one owner clean and sub 20,000 miles. Scary stuff.
Anyway, I love the car and the bank valued it at 17,560 so I feel ok about the purchase.

Nice to hear from you.

This may not be the car you are thinking of they had a car there with 26,000 miles or so another 2003 S2K with these wheels on it, a guy comes in and wants to buy it for his 16 year old kid who had just totaled an 02 he does not want the VOXX wheels and makes them take the stock 03 wheels off my 45,000 mile silver, identical 2003 model and then they stuck these (VOXX) wheels onto my car. I almost turned the car down because of it.
They took another $1000.00 of the price because I was pissed they removed the stock wheels. So I may not have his car.

And I still love you...MUUHAAAHAAA

Welcome to the site. I know of Park Place. If it is the one I am thinking of, they sell a lot of high end cars there. Congrats on the new car.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Oh yes they do and that's why they looked at this like it was "The Butler's car." But it's all good as they were willing to dump it for any reasonable offer.
Sweet

Thanks for the welcome. I love this car more every time I drive it.
