Talking Pick-Up my '02 Silverstone/Red today!

Good Morning All,
My name is Stuart, (Age 41) and I live in Tampa, Fla. I've adored the S2K's since their inception, but were always out of my affordability, until today! The roadsters of my past have been a '93 Miata, '97 Miata, and a '97 Z3, and today will be number 4 with my newly aquired '02 Silverstone Metallic and red S2K. When I test drove this machine, I immediately thought of my last 3 roadsters, and how slow they really were, and how sloppy the gearshifts were compared to this "Stallion", WHEW!!! I've been really missing out! Anyway good to be here, and I'll be asking alot of questions, so please be patient with me, ok?!

Whew! Welcome aboard folks. It seems that our numbers are on the rise.
Sinb, ummm-m-m . . what's a "stacker"? If you're referrin' to the system that's used to park one vehicle over another . . I didn't get one either.
Be well.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Hello sinb,
Yes, these machines are beauties aren't they? I don't believe I have a stacker in mine, and I don't know if the '02's had them. I'm quite sure our fellow S2K afficianado's can answer that question for me. If it does, it's probably buried in the trunk somewhere, since the cockpit hasn't much room for anything else. Happy shifting!

Another newbie to this site.

I wonder if the CD changer was standard on the models down under? I know many owners in the US that got it as an option mounted theirs in the secret compartment that the wind deflector mounts on. Open the compartment between the seats and then there is a latch on the upper lip inside that will open the compartment. If I had a changer (sorry - stacker ) that is where I would install it.

I know of some folks installing the CD changer under the driver's seat, but as far as I know the wiring harness for the changer terminates in the trunk so I bet that is where most folks would find it.

What is involved in using a Ipod in a car? Meaning what type of connection to integrate the Ipod to the car audio. I remember the first CD changers and how they connected to the existing cassette players that were standards for years in cars. Hell I remember 8 tracks. Now 78 records although I have seen them were before my time but not by much. John

Stuart,

Enjoy the ride! I just finished up my first month with my 05 GPW and it has been a real blast. Most fun I've had with my cloths on in a long time.

OK first of all there is Sydney Florida and Sydney Australia. Now that we have that out of the way...

There are two locations for the CD stacker.
1. In the boot(trunk) usually on the left hand side covered by a neat cover.
2. In the "secret compartment" this is the section located the windblocker, and it all folds up and backwards.
- Open the center console door. Near where the door latches into the cosnsole, you will notice that just under where the curve of the top of the console stops there is another little latch.
- Pull this forward with your fingers. This section folds up and backwards.

@Bubblerboy64 - You can get a wireless transmitter for the Ipod. Simply connect this to the Ipod and tune your radio into the required transmitter frequency. This will work on all radios and is simple to do.

Otherwise you will need to hardwire the Ipod. Ask your local dealership/ honda parts about honda music link (or even try searching on ebay). It may vary according to the model of your car/head unit. However some users do not like the fact it doesn't display song names on the headunit display.

Your third choice is to replace the whole head unit with something like an Alpine 9857 with the Full Speed connection for Ipod. If you wish the retain the stock dash controls after replacing the headunit, you will want something like the Modifry Alpine Wired DCI.
