New Red '03

Hi everyone i just wanted to say hi to everyone here.

Just got myself an 2003 Red S2k with 73k miles on it.

She looks all stock except for skunk springs and a brand new OEM soft top.

So far i love it.

So far i just have one question, i hate the front plate bracket. I tried taking

the screws off but they just keep turning and turning. I can't seem to get

my hands behind the bumper to see if any thing is holding them.

So i was wondering if there was anything back there that i should look out

for before i try taking things apart ?

Thanks guys and glad to be a new ap1 owner.

There are metal nuts for lack of a better term behind the bumper. Try pulling on the screws as you unscrew them. If they fall in then you will have to remove the bumper to get them out. If you want to install the little OEM color matched covers take a pair of pliers and pinch the ends together before you try to install them. If you don't they will push the nuts in.

Welcome! Nice looking ride. If you do have to resort to removing the bumper, have no fear it is very easy.

Yeah that happened to me too. Thankfully the gas station was empty so no one was waiting for me or bore witness to my shame. It was especially frustrating since i bought the car about 75 miles from home and with a nearly empty tank so there was no way I could avoid filling up right then and there.

I made myself feel better later by asking my friends to find it when i first showed them the car. Even with giving them clues it took a few min for them to find it.

I took the baby out for a wash today.

After hours looking everywhere for soft top protector i finally found 303 vinyl protector. ( couldn't find raggtopp )

After washing her i put the 303 on it, just mildly since its my first time doing this with a soft top.

And well I'm a very happy camper with the end result. It looks so much better than when i got her a few weeks ago.

The pictures don't do justice since i just took a quick picture with my phone, but it looks so black in person.

And since i was posting pictures of the s2k i wanted to post a few pictures of the wife's Genesis.
