Hello everybody, my name is Aaron and I am not a s2000 owner although I am looking to be. Very soon.
Currently I am looking at a 2002 Black with 26,xxx miles and apparently some aftermarket modifications such as wheels and strut bars. The car came out of a lease and apparently has been garaged since the first "owner". The seller is asking $18,200 for the car and for some reason that semmed cheap. I don't know if I should be concerned. From what I know of, the car has had a clutch replaced already so he wouldn't have to mess with it in the future and it is under warranty. Is it true that some s2000's have had clutch problems? He mentioned that it was not bad but he did not want to have to worry about it later so he went ahead and replaced it and it is still under warranty (the clutch). I don't know if that should be a matter of concern to me. I am going to check out the car tomorrow to see it for the first time. Please help me out if you have any advice or regarding this. Also, are black housing headlights with clear corners stock for some black cars? Thank you, Aaron |

The car is supposed to be in mint condition and have 17' alloys, and apparently $1500 more in parts. It also has a front lip. Can some1 please tell me what headlights the black housing are?

be weary of any cars with after market modifications. Usually just a sign that the car has been driven harder, possibly abused. If you know the seller thats different. Does the car have any engine mods, SC or turbo, etc?

The headlight could be a stock set that has been opened, painted, cleared the corner and reassembled.

Look closely at the headlight, it usually has the manufacturer or some sort of identification (dot approved also). If there dot approved, then i wouldnt worry about the heads, but what pecetrn said is true. Kids put pinstripes on their car, and think it ads 30whp, so they drive it like its a race car. Get it checked out by a trustworthy mechanic, and get a carfax! good luck with your purchase!
