2005 GPW I just got Tuesday!

Now I can do more than just look at and bother the local Honda dealerships for a ride. My new baby is GPW with 16K miles. Got as a private deal (no sales tax in GA) for 22.5 so I'm happy. Had a heck of a time finding a GPW as there doesn't appear to be a lot of them out there. Love it so far, just hate that the weather is getting colder and I will have to put a jacket on to drive with the top down .

Would like to know if other owners in this neck of the woods.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Hi,

I have wanted a Honda S2000 since I saw one in 1999-2000. I have dreamed of one and nagged my husband for 7+ years. When I came home for work on Tuesday there it was, a beautiful 2005 Honda S 2000 with about 12, 000 miles, it is silver with a black interior. He had my neighbor make a special bow for it, placed it on the top of the roof, but I was so dazzled by the car that I hardly noticed the bow. I live in CT so the car will be in the garage until spring. I plan on driving it tomorrow since it supposed to be dry! then I will put it away and wait until spring. I am so excited this is the coolest looking car that I have every seen. I just found your site tonight, but I do look forward to being part of it.

I am sure that you will love your CR, but I could not be happier with having an S2000 that I don't mind having a used 2005. This car still smells new (I know it was probably a spray that the dealer put in the car) and is almost perfect in every way, I did see a little mar in the paint work on the rear bumper, but other than that it is perfect. My husband and I went to the Honda Dealers in 2003 and I drove a beautiful 2003, it was July and no humidity, the sky was blue with not a cloud, a perfect day. That time he did not buy the car but that is ok, I have it now and I am thrilled. (I thought that it was a bit cruel to encourage a test drive and then not buy me the car, but I think that he thought if I drove it I would not like the car and he would be off the hook.) This test drive only encouraged my dreams. He loves the car as much as I do, and my friends at work keep asking "who did he buy the car for?" I don't mind, I always said that if I every got a Honda S2000 that he could drive it. Our frist sports car was a Fiat 128 sport spider, he had one and then I had one, what a night mare, it was in the shop being fixed more that it was on the road. A nice car to drive, and a nice looking car but totally unreliable. I have driven Honda's since the 1980's and never had a problem with them, lets hope my luck holds. --------J

Oh I didnt mean to say that you wouldve been happier with the CR. Its just for me, i plan to take the car to the track once in a while (probably buttonwillow and willow springs). And for me $2000 for a hard top and modified suspension made the selling point.

Very glad to hear you're enjoying your S2000. I been driving honda's since ive learned to drive myself.

Thanks Java, "Stewians" a very interesting name. I have enjoyed looking at the posts, the tips have been most helpful. One question do you ever come off cloud nine!!! I am usually very low key and calm, but this Christmas present has me floating. Spring can never come too soon, any year, but this year I will be counting the hours! Have a great day.

I assume you mean a Fiat 124 Spider. The X1/9 was supposed to be released as the "128 Spider". Fiat decided X1/9 was a better name.

The 124 Spider (I had two of these. When they ran, they were great cars).

The Fiat X1/9, Mid-engine spider.

Hi Daddy Zach,
I really did not care about the color, I have just always loved the style of the car. Since I waited so long to get one I am very happy with silver. Black is really sharp! ----J

No, you never come off of cloud 9. As Java calls it, you get the Stewie grin, or perma-grin.

The dumbest thing I've done to date is replace the wallpapers on my home and work comps with a nice pic of a yellow ap1. Why is that dumb? Because those times when I'm supposed to be working, I just miss the car.

Hi guys,

If you plan on putting your babys down for a winter nap, It's recommended to put in a preservative, like Sta-Lube. It helps keep the gas from turning to varnish and absorbs the water that builds from condensation. Come spring, she'll be ready to roll.

You may already know this. In which case,

NEVER MIND!

Hee hee, nope - three years in and I still smile every time I drive it - and I commute so it's a pretty regular thing. Most of the time commuting now it's just a drive, but some moment always seems to come up to drive the grin...
