Hi

Hi,

Hope no one minds me being here but I joined you forum in search of some information.

My father is currently looking at buying a Honda S2000 from a dealer in the Edinburgh area, the year is 2000. Is anyone able to tell me the standard alloy wheel size and tyre size on this car? Its just a normal model, not the roadster.

Any tips for buying would be much appreciated.

Many thanks and I am very impressed with the pictures of members cars, truly are gorgeous machines.

Hi Mike;
I'm only slightly versed in the state-side model n' we only got one Stewie, n' that's the roadster, which, obviously is the regular model. In the earlier version the wheel size was 16", but I'm uncertain as to the widths. The front was likely a 7" n' the rear an 8, possibly a 8.5.
In 2004 the wheel was brought up to 17" with 7" up front n' 8.5" in the back.
'Glad to have you on the site Mikey. 'Hope your dad picks up a winner.
(I don't imagine that you have any intentions of gettin' behind the wheel?)
Be well.

Well, I'm 21 but would cost a fortune for me to get added onto insurance. SO i'll proberly just have to observe until I can afford one.

Thanks very much for your reply, the S2000 we have seen hasen't got standard wheel and out of interest we were wondering the standard specs.

Huh? I guess you better tell me your definition of a roadster. Last time I check, ALL S2000's were roadsters.

FYI:
For reference, the OEM MY00-03 (AP1) wheel sizes and offsets are as follows:

Front:
16" x 6.5", +55 offset, 205 tire
Rear:
16" x 7.5", +65 offset, 225 tire

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Sorry I though that the other S2000 was the Roadster, I take it I am thinking of the GT?

Thanks for you reply

Mikey, glad to see ya. You came to the right place. If you can't find the info you need here, then it CAN'T be found. These guys are the TOPS when it comes to Stewie info. And don't be shy to ask for info. The only dumb question is the one not asked.

Mike;
You can take the wheel spec that Go supplied to the bank.
Your reference to the "other S2000" is a puzzler. To the best of my knowledge there isn't any "other S2000". Just the roadster.
As for any "GT" designations: other than one other reference to a "GT" that was also made by a UK brethren, I haven't heard of it (not a word Go).
If you have any info on the "GT" it would be greatly appreciated.
Be well.

I seem to have caused some confusion with my statement on GT and Roadster. I knew I have read this somewhere and did some research.

Honda S2000 (99 on) Review - Parker's

This UK website basically gives reviews on cars and a guide for prices and spec, it says the GT was a Honda S2000 with the hardtop. As far as I can tell thats all the difference.

Cheers

Mike

Many thanks Mikey. 'Hadn't seen that.
'Explains some of the confusion with the elusive "GT" that pops up from time to time.
Be well.

Maybe the reason we hear it more often is that up in Scotland here it rains quite alot and is cold, dealers may see this as a chance to push hard roof sales.
