Welcome to the club and site.

Specific questions would be helpful to get you the answers you seek.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

What to do to it so people don't spit on it? Keep it garaged, don't park it in the street near where kids hang out.

What to do? You sigh, shrug your shoulders (if that kind'a thing helps you get over it) n' you go find the nearest set of chicanes to make yourself feel better.
Unauthored scratches n' chips, bird crap, kicked-up rocks, smooth, sensual expanse-of-fender seekin' shoppin' carts, careless door openers . . they're all out there in lyin'-in-wait mode. Ain't pleasant to think about, but they are.
You do your best to avoid 'em, but ya godda realize that any of 'em (or worse) can happen.
The up side of it is that most of it doesn't take away from what Stewie's capable of in the corners, n' that's the essence n' the therapy that Stewie holds for us.
Of course the therapy of catchin' the @*#&er n' rearrangin' his molecules is always a rewardin' pastime, but it's not the usual scenario. So you do whutcha can.
Be well.

Nothing inexpensive will make much performance difference with this car. A CAI, header, exhaust will get maybe 10 HP. Some people want to change gears or cams, but they do not realize that this car isn't your normal Honda. You may get some increase out of those mods, but not much. Even ITB's won't get much. Most people make these mods for the difference in sound or they like the look. For serious performance increases you need to go with boost (SC or turbo). Neither is cheap, but that's the bottom line.
