What a car! (or "I just got an S2000")
I was looking for a fun to drive car that I would be able to use every day. Had only 2 options: S2000 and RX-8. Don't really care for 4 seats, but I do care for the weight. For me, a car needs to be RWD and light in order to be fun. It would also have to replace the very fun, but underpowered MX-5. The S2000 just seemed like a lot more capable car than the RX-8 and then I saw this BestMotoring race where S2000 not only outraced the RX-8, but also every other car in the test (Skyline, Impreza WRX, Integra TypeR and MX-5 ). The S2000 was an obvious choice.
Test drove it. My impressions were even better than expectations (and I had been pretty hyped up about it). It's beautiful, light, the engine is a masterpiece, the transmission is a joy to shift, steering feel is only little bit worse than it was on the MX-5, but that's probably due to softer dampers and regular tires. The balance is great and the seating position is just right. It totally won me over. This particular car is a well kept, low mileage one with full service historry and all the maintenance done by HONDA dealer. I saw it in a parking lot by the mall and left a note on the windscreen saying I'm interested in buying it, if the guy ever decides to sell it. He called back that same evening and here I am. What an I say - the car is every bit as amazing as I had imagined it would be. It's winter hee now (sort of). And the hard top was a really nice bonus. There's just one issue with it. The windows fog up unless I keep the A/C on. My guess - I should change the ventilation air filter? ![]() I also own a Honda Accord, Toyota Supra Turbo (Mk3) and a Mazda MX-5 1.8i (Mk2). |

Welcome aboard A, it's obvious that you've come to the same conclusions about li'l Stewie as the rest of us. And I godda admit, the one in the picture looks great.
Curious: you mentioned the "sort-of" presence of winter, unusually snowless is it? 'Strange year that's got some areas overpowered by the stuff n' some areas (like here in n' around New Jersey) where our big weather "event" has been dustings. Go figure. Alodda good threads n' posts available to you on site. If it ain't happened yet lemme give you a warnin' about the only drawback of ownership (well, aside from the constant possibility of losin' your licensce) your friends are gonna start lookin' at'cha funny n' keepin' their distance (which, in some cases ain't necessarily a bad thing) 'cause sooner r' later we all get this stupid grin on our face n' don't even realize it. 'Makes folks nervous. Be well. Java

Thanks! As I walk away from it, I turn arround and just can't believe it's actually mine.
There's only 5 of these in the country (Latvia, one of the Baltic states, below Finland and Estonia) and mine is the only one with the optional factory aero pack (front lip, side skirt and the small factory wing). We have a lot of expensive european exotica driving arround, but not many S2000's or NSX's or any serious japanese sports cars for that matter. That makes it even more special and exclusive. Quote:

Congrats on the car!! Everytime I see a hardtop, it makes me want one.
Try changing the cabin filter first to get rid of the fog. If that doesn't fix it, you MIGHT (very doubtful) have a worse problem on your hands. That or your just breathing too damn hard from having so much fun in the car.

I am not the only one who parks mine all the way at the end of a parking lot and on my way up to the store I turn and look at it like 5 times? Welcome to the forum
