Another happy camper.
Hi, guys, mine's 2 days old. Glad I found this group. I bought a new red Elan in '65. I missed it so much that I bought a red Miata in '91 (still have it). Kinda has that "old car smell" now, so Friday I picked up a new red S2k. Guess I have a thing for red RWD twincam pocket rockets. Amazing thing is that I got it for $31,100 and in 1991 dollars, that's only about $2000 more than the Miata and this is twice the car. What a bargain! I'm just puttin' around - haven't been over 5500 rpm - and I'm freakin' amazed what Honda has created. I'm waiting for the rain to quit and the sun to come out so I can really see what I have here. I bought it without even driving it because I'm a Honda believer (got my first in '62, a CB305 (2-wheeler)). Looking forward to lotsa helpful info from the group.

Howdy SPF. Welcome aboard n' best of luck with your new ride. Somehow I'm given the impression that I don't godda tell you that you're gonna enjoy it.
'An Elan back in '65 eh? 'Ran alodda drool down my chin lookin' at 'em, but opted for a 'Healey. 'Nice to have someone else aroun' that'll understan' when I daydream n' talk like MGAs, Griffiths n' Haystacks Calhoun were last week. We've also got a '93 n' a '99 Miata in the family that are also a constant source of fun. N' you can never have quite enough of that can'ya? Be well. Java

Thanks!
Thanks for the welcome, guys.
J.J., ya 'bout brung a tear to m'eye with th' Griffith! That wuz one snotty little number. Not too purty, but at least it didn't have termites like that other'n. My first question's where's everybody pluggin' the friggin' radar detector in? I can't see stretchin' it back and then gittin' strangulated takin' a lefthand cloverleaf at 85. 'N how long are these high-dollar low beams gonna last? I'm afraid ta turn 'em on (sure do work good, tho'. I thought the 80/130 Hella H-4s on the Miata were good. These 'uns are awesome). |

Oh SP . . we're gonna have a good time. Ah kin tell.
Afraid I ain't got nothin' for you with the detector. Creative wirin' 101's the best I can suggest. But don't go crazy jus' yet. You ain't heard from too many site members yet. If you're runnin' into a problem I'd be very surprised if someone here hasn't a relatively simple solution. As for the headlights: (used some Hellas but always favored Cibies n' 90/160s wuz my favorites. If ya ever got stranded you could always toast up some road kill with 'em) but my daily driver's out almost every night n', as I can never have enough light pointin' where I'm headin', the brights're also on most of the time. Picked up the car aroun' April '05 n've put over 20 thou on it since with no indication of the headights doin' anythin' 'cept keep on keepin' on. So I wouldn't lose any sleep over 'em. Be well. Java
