WHich is better?
New here and I have a question. I'm looking at buying an S2000 as a second car (I've got a Honda Accord Daily Driver). How much difference is there in the pre 04 motors? I know Honda increased the displacement after 03, but I've heard mixed reviews. Your opinons?

Test drive both. One or the other will jump out to you. I've driven both and they both have there strong points, but I'm an AP1 guy (00-03).
The main difference in the motors in the redline change and the change in torque. The AP2's have better torque and are said to be better for daily use.

Yeah, Spa's right on the money with his assessment. The two (the earlier AP1, n' later AP2) are both terrific rides. But they're apples n' oranges. The changes in the later model are much more than jus' the engine. N' when you come right down to it,the power difference between the two model engines is probably the least of the differences. The suspension and offset in contact patch front to rear is more noticeable to me than anything else.
But, make no mistake about it: both are driver's cars. Pickin' the one that suits your style of drivin' is not a luxury that many of us often get. Be well n' like the old knight said . . . choose wisely. Java
