Hi Guys & Girls
I am a new member on the site so a brief description of my S2k. 2000W UK Spec car, Reg No. S200 ORY, Silverstone with Red Leather. One previous owner who never used it in the wet or during the winter. He was also an instructor for the Institute of Advanced Motorists here in the UK so the car was driven well and never in too much anger. I purchased the car last September and have driven it in the wet and through the winter. However only on my 2 days off a week. With the roof down at any opportunity. I bought the car to replace my '93K Honda CRX VTi which had only covered 26000 miles. But today my S2k finally tripped over to 18000 miles. Not bad for a 7 year old car and yes it looks almost as good as new, the wheels were replaced under warranty around 24 months ago and are unmarked. When I get around to it I'll take some pic's and post them on the site. My wife (who claims it is her car?) and I live in sunny (wet) Cornwall in the UK, and today we took a run down to St Ives in the far west along the A30, quite interesting at one point with a three car train lead by, remember this is the UK, a Camero then a 911 then me. I can't possibly let you know what speed we were touching but it was all very safe, restrained and gentlemanly and a complete blast. I look forward to the summer when my neck won't get as cold. Regards |

Howdy RY, n' welcome aboard.
Evidently our weather's r' comin' aroun' side-by-side as we're starting to experience some sunshine n' warmer temperatures too. As you mentioned your neck bein' cold, may I offer somethin' that I learned from a lodda years of ridin' bikes through the winter (no more. Now I bask in the luxury of an open cockpit with a top that I can throw up really quickly if it gets unbearable): I believe it's somethin' like 85% of heat lost from a normally "cold-weather" dressed body is from the neck n' head. A scarf (we've all been lookin' for an excuse to have a short one blowin' in the wind) n' a good hat make a big difference. Chances are that you're already aware of that, but it never hurts, right? We share a love of droppin' the top at every opportunity. That, n' the corners r' what it's all about. Be well. Java
