New s2000 owner
Hi all. I just wanted to sign up and say hello after stumbling across this site. I have a gray 2001 S2000 that I bought 2 months ago with 54,000 miles on it. I've always wanted a sports car, love Honda (I've never owned anything else, this is #5) and so far, it hasn't disappointed. I seriously know very little about S2000's and honestly bought it on a whim. Any advice about maintanence and performance would be greatly appreciated. I've not had very much luck with the car so far. I sat down one day and a metal clasp on my pants ripped a 2" gash in the seat, I got a crack in the rear plastic window, and this weekend some guy in a F150 backed into the driver side door. Hopefully nothing else will happen to her.

Welcome to the site and the car. I think you will find that this is the funnest Honda you have owned. Sorry to hear about your bad luck to this point.
If I were you, I would change the oil/ filter, tranny fluid, diff fluid, brake fluid, and clutch fluid just so I knew it was done and when it was done. On a used vehicle, you don't know when or IF these normal maintanence items were done unless the previous owner kept logs.

Thanks for the advice gomarlins. I plan on taking it in to the dealership for the 60k service as soon as it gets done at the body shop having the driver side door replaced. I'm also having the front bumper replaced at the same time, it just had tons of paint chips and a couple of small cracks in it. I need to get at least the front brake pads replaced also (there's a squeak in one of them).
batguano.....I have no doubt at all that I'll love that car. I already do. I swear I almost cried when she got hit. |
