The Price
Hello again, I have always loved the S2000. I have never test drove one of them. I have to wait until 08' to buy one that way my car will be paid off. i want one but i dont know how cheap I can get it. My father is a coke employee and the guy that owns the honda near me is like the manager of coke or something like that and he told me i could probably get maybe 20% off. I want one so bad, maybe I will lease it and then buy it after that. Does anyone have any suggestions?

20% not a chance. Thats almost 7 grand off sticker. Thats not gonna happen.

I agree that 20% off isn't going to happen on a new car. Now if you are buying an '07 left over, that may be another story.

yeah now thinking about it 20% is pretty high, but it was a 2007. I just hope that when it comes time to me getting one that the price is right.

I have been looking at autotrader for S2000s around here and I have been finding ones that have low miles that are near my price range.

most used S2000 are abused, this is a fact because it's high performance car and people drive them hard. unlike Civics and Accords we all need money but I would be flexible with what I pay, not with what I buy. the best thing is to buy one with NO MODIFICATION whatsoever, and still under Honda warranty, repairs for this thing can be costly, it is a Honda, very reliable and everything, but it is a car and it breaks. you can get a certified pre owned from Honda with 100k miles powertrain warranty for around 24k. I would go this way if you are getting used. just for the sake of warranty |

I would never buy a used one unless I was getting some type of warranty from a dealer or unless it was from an owner where you can clearly see that the car hasn't been abused, like the silverstone I looked at 2 months ago. It was an '01 owned by a 50 year old lady who never hit the redline and only had 14k miles on it. Her husband would take it out every now and then and drive it a bit harder just to blow out any kind of buildup in the engine. She never took it into VTEC.

As with any car just take your time and make sure you learn everything about the car that you can. It's a big help when you check out an S2k. I agree, go with a dealer that has a warranty, have the car checked out if you don't trust the seller, no offense, but you may want to stay away from younger s2k owners - its a quick car, what would you expect they have done? Exactly. Honda makes great vehicles, no doubt about that. Pricey parts but nevertheless, great reliable cars. I still remember the day i first drove an s2k. less than 10 minutes in it, and i knew it was my next car. I bought one about a month or two later. You have to go drive a few. You will know if it's right for you when you drive it. good luck!
