From the first day...

From the first day I test drove this sucka, I got to say it was like climaxing, even better. I love the sound this car produces, the gear shifts, the top down, and taking these corners.

I find my self checking these forums alot, aswell as s2ki. I check maybe 3 times a day, just to help calm me down. I really do have a problem; I love this car too much.

if i had to sacrafice a nut for it, You bet i would cut that XXXX right off. Unfortunately, financially, I cannot afford this car. Most likely won't able to in another 2-3 years.

Im sure there were a few that acted the way I act. How long did you have to visualize your self in the s before acually buying one?

I wish, ohh I wish I wish I came from a rich family. All my friends, their family are just so succesful. Many of them are real good guys, They deserve their cars. But I think their missing out alot when they get things handed down to them. Working hard for your luxury has got to be the greatest feeling.

HAHA...am in the same situation, i need at least a year before it is reasonable for me to buy ( since I need to keep my other vehicle for carrying stuff).

Had been driving my friends 07 350Z around this xmas and was starting to like it alot, but went to drive the s and WOW. I didnt talk to the salesman the whole drive, I just drove as fast as I could.

I've never been so concentrated in my life. Compared to the Z it shifts 100X better, the steering and the connection to the car is more intimate. You can definitely feel the difference in power and low end torque (the z is a monster) but am not trying to race anyone.

I love driving and I know the Stewie is for me, now i just gota wait and try to break my addiction untill its time to spend my money and get one.

Well I been wanting an S since it came out in 99. So that makes it 8 years...

I can barely afford the payments on it myself. It eats up a whole paycheck every month. But I don't regret it one bit

Welcome. I thought they were cool looking but never really wanted one. I ended up taking one for a testdrive I never shifted above 5k and I still got back to the dealership and said ok I will take it. So the first day I really wanted one is the day I bought it

It's VERY dangerous to buy a car and have no money left over each month for other things. That's when we turn to credit cards to pay for things. That is a VERY slippery slope that I have gone down before. I sit here now wanting to do it again for another car, but I have to hold off.

After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Hi, my name is Controller, and I'm a Stewie-a-holic.

One of the things that drew me to Stewie was the price. I was in the market for used, but like my first post said, I was looking at a Boxster. Porsche maintenance costs were scaring the washington's in my wallet. So after reading an Edmund's article between roadsters naming Stewie the winner, I went on a test drive on a whim.

I fell in love with it after the first drive, and it was the car I took home.

I can appreciate your situation. However, can I provide a life lesson? If the answer is no, you can stop reading this post now:

-- Do you want the car because it is out of reach? Sometimes, it's the wanting something that you can't have that is the thing that causes the drive. If this is really your motivation, then even if you have the thing you wanted, you will still want more. It's the difference between greed and contentment.

*Gets off soapbox*

Its a very unique little roadster that everyone's kind of heard about but not seen. You have to respect the vehicle and its performance or you will get busted. Like Yoda says......With great power comes great resposibilty young apprentice.

Enjoy, but please no climaxing ???

I've been wanting one since they first came out, had never even driven one though since I knew I couldnt afford a new one or a nearly new one. Never even saw any used ones for sale either until a few months ago when I saw my now current 03 in the paper. It was at a dealer, actually there was 2, this one and an 05 with low miles but for a lot more cash. Was going to check on both and then go to the Mazda dealer to and see what I could do on a new Miata. Had an 07 Civic Si to trade. Drove the 03 first and never made it to the Mazda dealer or to the 05 S2K. Drove the 03 ho,e that day, didnt really even plan on buying it, just wanted to see what they were like. Did the paperowrk for the heck of it, argued with the sales manager about price, etc., finally he came down to what I could realistically afford, lol, couldnt say no then.

I first test drove one in Feb of 2002. I was 25, buying it for a weekend car. I fell in love with the sounds, all the same stuff that makes this car what it is. I decided to start a family first, I had just gotten married. I found that the noises never went away, and three children later (set of twins 3 months ago) I decided it was time to get a "clear your mind" car. After about two days of searching, i found one about 500 miles away, picked it up and the rest is history. I wish you luck, but this car will haunt you until you own it.

I know what you mean, I first sat in one in the showroom in 2000 (they only had one and wouldn't let it out) and was shocked and amazed to find that I fit! 5 years later I finally found a used one at a possible price and I've been hooked ever since the test drive.
