Drove my first S2k today
I've been wanting one of these since they came out, but it has always been impractical for me to own one. (guess you have never heard that one before!) Well a couple of months ago my wife got a 2008 Accord Coupe EX-L and we decided to keep her 2002 Civic EX because it was paid for and only had 40k miles on it. Well since then I have been driving the Civic to work and my 2005 TSX has been sitting in the garage except for the weekends and afternoon drives. Well it just occured to me that this is the perect oppurtunity to trade the TSX on a S2000!
I saw where the dealer we got the Accord from had a 2007 S2k with 11k miles on it for $26997 so I figured I would look at it and make sure I can fit in the seat. I went by at lunch today and the car fits like a glove (6'1") and I got to drive it. The salesman said for me to make sure I opened it up past 6K so I wan't ging to argue! We got to talking and they have 2 new 2007 models left over and I asked how aggeressive they would get on the price. He said he felt sure they could get under $30k and if i did a lease my payment would be over $100/month lower that currently on my TSX. Now all I have to do is go ahead and convince my wife to let me do this. ![]() I'll keep you posted!! |

we have dealerships out here in arizona with there last 2007 models listed around $27,000 plus fees, I would imagine you could pick one up for around $30,000/$31,000 otd

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I found the "secret compartment" when looking over the car. It was funny because the salesman didn't know about it either.

Have the Civic break down and use her car for a while. She'll see the light.

I'm not giving up, hell I even offered to sell my GSXR since I have another bike anyway and between that and going to a lease on the S2k we would be saving $350/mo. I think it's the "woman's reaction" to find reasons I should not have something she knows I really want.

OK, here's what ya need to do. Explain to the Mrs. how ROMANTIC Stewie is. You will be sitting so close to her. You can place your loving digits on her thigh. (Leave out the shifting the 6 speed part). Continue by describing dropping the top on beautiful moonlight night. (skip the part about going to VTECH through a series of S's in the middle of the night to avoid attracting the attention of the gendarme) Tell her how beautiful and sexy she will look next to you in Stewie, how her hair will blow in the breeze. (Don't bother to mention the times you will want ot venture off on your own so you can experience the stuff that Stewie is REALLY made of) and finally, if all else fails, get her drunk.......

The salesman told me to go ahead and pack a weekend bag so when I bought the car home and she kicked me out I'd already be packed for a weekend in the mountains.

I find a alternate, even more outrageous vehicle thrown in the mix will make the original proposal seem like a good idea. This takes time to work though. Good luck......

Thanks Scoot. It all started with a blind date. We were both doing a friend a favor cuz I had the wheels and my friend wanted to see his girl friend. But that's another story.
