I've owned CRXs, Accords and I have a Pilot. I'm now looking for a S2000. I've been driving the crap out of a 91 Miata I bought for fun about 8 years ago with 76,000 on it and now its time for an upgrade. Its got 108,000 on it and its turning into a rattle box.

I've thought about buying a new MX-5 but then went out and drove a few S2000s and I'm hooked.

What are some of the warning signs of problems, abuse etc. I should look out for in a used one? I've always bought new cars (except for the Miata which had its issues) so this is a tuff purchase for me. Whats this I read about the car slipping out of gear from 1st to 2nd? Any thing you guys can bring to my attention of what to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently looking at a certified black 05 with 31,000 on it. They are asking 22,995 and Honda has 3.9% for 36 months. The car appears to be mint - one owner.
