New guy, Sacramento valley

Hi there! I've been reading the site since the day I drove home in my 2000 model year s2000, red on black.

...And I kept on reading even after I had to take the car in for service after less than two days of driving. Entirely my fault - I hadn't learned my stewie before trying to drive like I did. The clutch is getting replaced and I'm paying for my mistake.

Car has around 55k on it so I very politely asked that they replace the MTF and diff. fluids (with honda lube!) I understand that around 60k is where some of these fluids have broken down but I want to be extra careful, now.

Is there a break-in period for a new clutch/fluids? I'm using the search feature after I post this...

Welcome!!!!!

I'm not sure about any break in periods, MY04' only has 15k on it But most owners recommend you change the diff and tranny fluids about every 15k or so.

Hi Techguy !

Welcome to the site, and to the world of clutch replacment.
Once you get that left foot under control, you'll be in for a whole lot of fun.

Welcome to the site from a (distant) member of the Sacramento S2000 group.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Aaaay TechGuy! Owyadoon?
Welcome to the site. Grab a long-sleeved jacket n' jump in with the rest'a the inmates.
As for the clutch: it izz whuddittizz.
The clutch, brakes n' tires r' parts expected ta wear out so that you n' Stewie can doo whu'cha wanna doo n' other, more expensive parts don' godda take a beatin'.
With 55 thou on the clock, the failure'a the clutch was more'n likely the previous owner'z work, not necessarily yours.
So, 'sounds like you're good to go.
Wear it in good health.

Thanks, all! I got her back just in time for three solid days of rain. Yesterday, however, saw some sun in my Sacramento Valley. Add to that a hat and jacket and the top was down immediately. I love this car.

You've got a great car for a ride on the back roads over to Reno. Probably a little snow up there now but spring is right around the corner!
