Belated welcome from me- I haven't been reading the forum past few days- but glad to see another "vintage" member here like me and some others HEY DON--- WE GOT US ANOTHER BOW TIE GUY !!!! I and a few others are(were) proud owners of Chevy power- esp fiberglass bodied type) But I am a relative newbie to the S- got my '04 about 5 months ago- love it !! Also was kinda checking everything out on the car (not totally anal, just detailed) and am glad I bought the S. As others have said- any year S is a good one if all the mechanicals show that it hasn't been abused and evidently as many others here will tell you the car can stand quite a bit of abuse and keep on going. I would also recommend going with AP2- '04 and newer but no matter how much $$ available unless you can get a great discount on new (doubtful now that production has ceased) I woud say buy a low miles used AP2. As you probably alsready figured out- lots of good folds here and they have heard all the problems and know the solutions. Aside from having to decode some of the more esoteric posts from New Jersey, you will have a great time with the car and on this site. Good luck !!! Rich
