A reply to my introduction-I DID IT!
Group,
Just a couple of days ago I came to you for advice and I certainly listened and took your information to heart. I don't want to share too much at this time and take the chance of jinxing the deal, but if all goes according to Hoyle I'll have a beautiful 2006 S2000 in my garage this evening. STAY TUNED! |

s2000isu,
I'm going to keep this puppy bone stock. Went down that performance road with my 71 Chevelle and it is an expensive and never ending road. The S2000 is plenty fast enough for my current tastes. Don't need to go 900 miles per hour with my hair on fire (what little I have left) to enjoy myself anymore. |

Yeah, I'm all for keeping the car stock too! It's the way I want it, but I won't lie - it's for future generations as well. I'm sure we all realize how hard it is to find a bone stock Supra, 300ZX, or RX-7 these days. They've all been modded to hell, and blown up or crashed at least once. It's a shame, but I guess some people have more of a need for speed than others. Good Luck Jon Law.

'06 is the best year (i got 1). They come equipped with that special doohickey (technical term) that makes them fast.

Well. We all know that Laguna Blue is the fastest color. Also, these are the only cars that Honda put the REAL secret compartment in. You other color owners will just have to live without it.

laguna may not be the fastest but its by far the best looking followed close behind by white.

Good luck- man--- BTW don't let these guys mess w/you because the color doesn't make the car fast at all. It's the aerodynamics and slip factor ,and it's well documented that Sebring Silver is the most aerodynamic of all.

Well Group, it's in the garage!!!!
My wife and I are now the proud owners of a "An immaculate, Bright Red, 2006 S2000 with 14,600 miles on it." At the urging of some of you members we checked out "Craig's list" for the first time ever and found this car less than ten minutes from our house. It belonged to a young couple (the lady's car) with a baby that couldn't use it any longer. The couple was motivated to sell and we had cash. They had the maintenance records (needed oil changes only) a clear carfax report, and a clear title in hand. They were the original owners and the Honda dealer they bought it from is about five minutes from our house. I dropped by and spoke with the sales and service manager and they knew the car. The service manager gave it a clean bill of health. I checked the car from top to bottom, front to rear. The only thing that did not look brand new was a light rash to the bottom of the front spoiler where the lady said she once got too close to a parking space stop and scraped the bottom of the spoiler chin. That isn't bothering me a bit, especially for the price we paid. My wife and I agreed that there were only two colors that really interested us at all. The first being the "pearl yellow" and the second being "red". We are happy with the red. Normally I wouldn't share this information with folks but this is still somewhat of an anonymous site. I paid $19,000.00 for the car. I think I did well, any opinions or comments? I have to go pay the taxes and pick up the plates this morning and do some additional running around. I'll post some pictures in the next day or two, although it looks like any stock red 2006. Many many thanks to all of you that offered opinions and kind words of support. I shall remain an active member on this Forum. Jon |

Congrats! NFR (New Formula Red) is the best color, but I may be biased.

BTW, the price you paid is more than reasonable.
You can buy a prepainted OEM lip like the one in my avatar and it will most likely cover that rash up.

Yep I agree New Formula Red is the best color. I picked up my 2003 with 9800 miles about a month ago and paid a simular price for mine. Can't stop smiling since I got it.
Welcome to the site, this is a very helpful and fun group.

Excellent! Gotta get some miles on her before the snow flies. I think we're in for a tough midwestern winter this year, so top down time is at a premium.

Group,
I'm going to be very busy for the next few days with family matters but I'll give a review of my thoughts about the S2000 and some photos as soon as I can. Thanks for understanding. |

Congrats on the new ride
To echo what you may have already read, drive and enjoy the car, you may just find that there is more than enough power for your taste. As for the bump on the chin, got one this year, have been told it's a common thing amazing how fast you forget about it after the initial pain Cheers
