oh and id be damned pissed if someone pulled out putting in front of me on the highway. Maybe your friend should have waited until there weren't cars coming towards him if he knew he had to take off slow.

That sucks! Sorry.
It does look like at least several thousand dollars in parts of damage when they add up all of the little clips and parts. Cant really tell from the pics what got damaged underneath. Not sure on the labor but it will be at least that much. Good luck. Kevin Last edited by mlc; 01-09-2012 at 09:20 AM. |

Thanks for being a jerk
He was on the highway going 35MPH for over a mile before he got hit WITH his hazards on. So he didn't "cut the other guy off". The other was too busy playing with his dick and not paying attention to the road.

Bummer situation. I hope you realize how incredibly LUCKY you are that no one got injured -- your husband, the guy driving your S, the guy in the other car -- and that no other cars ended up involved as well.
As much as it pains me to say this, you need an attorney. 1) You have no insurance. 2) You have a police report saying it was the driver of your S at fault. 3) There is some evidence to support item 2 -- regardless of the speed of the other car, the S was the one entering the roadway and so it's that driver's responsibility to yield right of way; and at 35mph, he should have, if at all possible, remained on the shoulder of the road since most major throughfares have a minimum safe speed requirement (you only say highway, so it's hard to tell if we're talking freeway or what). I'm sorry you are going through this and I hope you come out with as little damage as possible. That stated, you do have to admit that letting that car out on the road knowing it was uninsured, regardless of who was driving and who else might have screwed up in the process, was definitely your own fault and you have to accept the responsibility of the results of that action. You called the car your precious baby. Um, you allowed someone else to drive it and without insurance. It must not have been as precious as all that. Please, I know you are upset and having a hard time seeing this for what it is. But a LOT of this situation is entirely your own fault and best thing you can do now is own that and attempt to mitigate damages.

Driving without insurance is a big no-no. If anyone was seriously hurt, you could go to jail or be stuck with their medical bills which could be 10s of thousands of dollars. Never let it run out, and if it does, keep it off the road until you renew. Hard lesson to learn the way you did.
I am glad everyone is ok, and I hope it works out for you in the end. |

Insurance is lapsed, so you let a "guy from a friend of a friend" test drive your car? (BTW, is that three orders of magnitude, or just two??)
Ughh...yeah, that was a bad idea. If you had insurance, it would be the other driver's fault. But regulations state that because you are uninsured, you are at fault...by default Good luck getting your car fixed. |

How many lanes was this road, since it sounds like he was going fast for the right lane. Also, he shouldn't have been looking at his phone.

Alright guys...The guy's insurance who hit me is covering the repairs.
Also, for all the shit talkers, insurance wasn't lapsed. It expires on the 20th. The letter the insurance company sent out had the wrong date on it. So either way, I'm covered. Just sucks I had a car that was involved in a rear end collison. =( Here she is, about to head out. Took the tow truck guy over an hour to get her on the flatbed. lol.

Shit talkers hahaha. We only used the information you gave us. If youre too immature to see that thats your issue. But the good news is no matter what happens with insurance and all you still have a good rack and most likely nice headlights and they are worth good money.
