s2000 replace ??

guys i am from china , i was here since when i was 13 years and now i live in New York and i work a at New York City.
i saw a (Civic Type R ) on a Chinese Newspaper from HongKong today.
it's 4 door, 18x rims ,brembo brake system.big CF spoiler wing style like Evo.
2.0 liter engine reline at 9k RPM .makes 225 HP.

what i really think is this might be the replace of the s2000 next year
just like most of people saying they going to make a nice four door sporty car.

and i will get some pictures tomorow.

The only thing I would replace my S with is a Lotus Elise.

Sounds to me like a non-imported Civic SiR.

After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Dunno Leo.
I think the only place that you're gonna find a mindset that Stewie has a "replacement" waitin' in the wings is on sites like this n' it probably falls under the headin' of wishful thinkin'.
Honda can afford to go off on tangents once in a while, but Honda's a thrivin' business. The only way any business gets folks to use the word "thrivin'" before the company name is when that business has great regard for the almighty buck n' favors the source of that almighty buck with product that the money source needs, or, items that tickle it's fancy enough to make it part with that money oud'a lust/impulse buyin'.
Stewie was fun, Stewie showed that Honda could bring a modern-day sports car (roadster no less) to the market n' peddle it to the faithful (That's us. Folks that need a little "rush" once in awhile), n' Stewie more'n likely had Honda take a loss in the difference between the R&D n' production n' what the actual Stewie sales brought in. But Honda's Honda. They can afford to go off on a tangent that doesn't follow the big bucks once in a while. But not on a regular basis.
There's alot (as in ALOT)more folks out there buyin' Civics, Accords n' all the other reliable ho-hummers that Honda makes. Us Stewie-buyin' faithful? We might register within two spaces on the right hand side of the decimal point of Honda sales. Not the kind'a showin' that's gonna have the suits in the stratospheric offices of Honda sendin' down word to the workin' grunts to design a replacement for Stewie.
But I'm a wishful thinker too.
Totally the world accordin' to Java guys. Personal opinion to the nth degree.
Be well.

Sorry...not my cup of tea. Nothing like a HUGE and pointless rear spoiler on a front wheel drive car. I would, however, consider it for my wife.

Dunno Leo.
"Appreciation" of our "investment" ain't a good thing. The kind'a thinkin' that hopes for Stewie's value to increase does not go hand-in-hand with the desire to take it out n' try to stretch the tarmac in the corners. It's thinkin' that leads to specific, desirable breeds of cars bein' bought for telephone numbers n' permanently tucked away into a hermetically-sealed slot in one'a those Raiders-of-the-Lost-Arc warehouses, never to be seen, r' (gasp!) driven again.
The ability to drive n' to have a Stewie is a million times more important to me than what it's value is.
N' to get worked up about some little steroided front wheel econobox, n' then consider somethin' like that as a "replacement" for Stewie? Not even as a bad joke.
Dunno Leo. Maybe it's jus' me, but . . dunno Leo.
Be well.

Are you sure about that, the Elise has all the RPM and great horsepower weight ration. However, the quality... drive it in the rain and prepare to get wet..or to say it with car and driver "the worst quality car that is the most fun we ever had".

Just face facts now. There is no replacement for Stewie. You move on, like getting the next dog. It's a dog, and you'll love some things, while other things will annoy you, but it won't be the last one.

^ I would disagree with that. There are many cars that could replace the S for me. I would be VERY sad to see it go, but there are cars that I would give it up for. Unfortunately they are all at least twice as much as the S.

i'm with you Go. there are many cars that the s2000 could replaced with that would provide the same level of (or more) performance.
personally, i sought out an ap1 because of the raw sportscar feel that it has. (i got lucky and found a 5yr old car that wasn't beat to death) stewie is very technologically sophisticated, but when you're behind the wheel, it's much more old-school than nearly every other modern roadster that i've driven. when did they take the the "sport" out of alot of these sportscars? i like a car that rewards the drivers skill, as much as it punishes a lack of it. (i will make exception for the lotus elise, because it do all they say it do--the s2k is a towncar compared to the elise)
my vote for stewie's replacment in my garage is a bmw Z-8, or if by some divine miracle an' old 507 bimmer roadster fell from the sky....i could be tempted to change my mind.

Let me clarify on my comment. You get other cars. You will in your life time. Will it be an s2000? Who knows.

I would give up an s2k for plenty of other cars out there, but in my mind, it doesn't "replace", it succeeds it, and would always have that special place.

Wing like an EVO? So they are going to replace the "S" with a airplane?

Now the Z-8 I can see, but an average one goes right now at around 100K, so by that count you could get 3 1/2 stewies.....

I would probably love a Porsche GT-3 or Lambo Miura fall from the sky, but again i could probably get 4 or so Stewies.... but you are right there are beautiful cars that cand replace the S...just not quit in the price range.

I hear y'a Java, that you bring it to the point. All the 100K up cars that make you want it, the S is just a good friend that reliably makes you want to take the corners and feel good.

I was out of town for 2 month and drove it to work the first time in 2 1/2 month, it just felt right, it felt good and for all the excitement it is quit affortable.

s2000 replace ??

I don't think that there is a replacement for Stewie. However, Road and Track magazine claims that the Honda XGA will be its replacement. Here's what they are saying--

The internal name given to the S2000's replacement is XGA. We had thought all along that the XGA would be a 4-door sports car showcasing Honda's SH-AWD system used in the RL and its advanced hybrid technology (remember the Dual Note concept car?). Well, now we're hearing the company is leaning toward producing a coupe based on the RL platform, but equipping it with either the V-8 or V-10 for the NSX replacement.

Honda will surely equip the luxury coupe with its SH-AWD system, creating a car that would match up with the likes of the Nissan GT-R. If the XGA and the next NSX make it to production as we foresee, it would mean that all of Honda's sporty cars would be awd. Could Honda be trying to redefine the classic sports-car formula, and change the way we think about sports cars and awd? It's a definite possibility because Honda has expressed that much confidence in the capabilities of its SH-AWD.

The XGA will be front engine and look quite different from the RL, and it may go head-to-head with the GT-R. A hint of its styling may be seen in the Sports4 Concept shown at the Tokyo Motor Show.

While it's still too early to tell when this car will be available, we're sure that Honda is hard at work to reestablish its image as one of the world's leading sports-car makers. It shouldn't be long after the end of the S2000's run that we'll start seeing exciting new stuff from this technology-driven company.

For price wise, nothing is better then the stewie... and if with extra cash to spare; lets look at the Arial Atom with 300hp Honda Engine! Can't be any purer then this mechanical marvel!

Wow, that XGA bears a striking resemblance to my grocery getting 05 TSX. I love that car but it will never replace the S2000. The only things that replace the S2000 is a superior 2 seat convertable or coupe that follows the same rules. Light weight, rwd, high revving toy! It looks like Honda plans to make it a real 3 series competitor with awd TSX looking car. The sad and sorry truth is that Honda has become very "mainstream" in their thinking and they probably won't take another risk like the S2000. The S2000 doesn't make them much $$$ either and that's wh
