Exclamation GOT SMOKED BY AN EVO

GUYS LISTEN TO THIS STUFF OF COURSE OFF THE LINE I GOT SMOKE CHECKED BUT HAS ANYONE DONE A ROLLING START WITH AN EVO AND DOES IT KEEP UP IT SEEMED AS IF AFTER WE STARTED HE HAD SHOT ABOUT TWO CAR LENGTHS AHEAD BUT AFTER THAT WE STAYED ABOUT "2 CAR LENTHS APART" THE WHOLE WAY TO 110 miles per hour TILL WE DECIDED A TICKET AT THAT SPEED MIGHT COST A LITTLE BIT... AND IF THE EVOS ARE FATSER WHAT SHOULD I DO TO MY CAR TO BEAT IT????

SO YOU SAY SUPERCHARGER..... IS IT BETTER TO HAVE A SUPERCHARGER OVER A TURBO I KNOW IT COSTS LESS AND REQUIRES LESS MAINTENANCE BUT WHICH REALLY HAS BETTER OUTPUT......IF THERE IS NOT THAT MUCH MORE OUTPUT FROM A TURBO THAN SUPERCHARGER I CAN ALWAYS FIX THAT WITH OTHER MODS ANYWAYS...OH IS IT TRUE YOUR MOTOR HAS TO BE STOCK TO HAVE A SUPERCHARGER RUN RITE WITH YOUR MOTOR???

Please shut off your CAPS lock. Thank you.

Never drove an Evo, don't want to. I hear they're quick but from a styling standpoint they look like somebody tried to make a sports car out of their mothers grocery getter. JMO.

I get bothered on a daily basis by evo's, sti, base wrx's, civics, mustangs, 350z, G35, heck even kids driving their parent's volvos. In fact, the only people who don't seem to want to get my attention at a light or on the road are other S2000 and Miatas. I jsut tune them out and I really don't care who is Quicker, I have my wife's E55 amg for those guys. I'd like to think that our S2000's are meant to stand for something more. There is no car that is as soulful as ours and evo's and the like are just glorified ugly civic copies with turbos. Let them be quicker and even faster, at the end of the day they are still ugly 4 door econo boxes....

There are just to many unknown mods about the Evo. 2 car lengths seems a bit suspicious to me. The Evo is fast but not that fast in comparison (to me). Go to youtube and type in "S2000 vs Evo. There are several posts of people racing their S's aginst Evo's, 350Z's, WRX, etc... In some of the posts the S beats the Evo at a rolling start. Check it out. By the way...... what are the odds of you seeing the same Joker again??

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I bet you got beaten because you forgot to turn CAPS LOCK off.

Speaking of turning things off or on, did you find the button for limited-slip yet?

Hey DJJSR,

this is something I hadn't entertained 'till now.
Smoking Evos. I've been pan frying them for so long now, I guess I've just become lazy. A nice hickory fire, and throw 'em in the box for a few hours. Ummm Ummm , good.....

you're driving a sports car not a drag racer. Remember it looks better all in one piece. BTW I think the new Evos are putting out about 300 HP

evo can do way more than 350 whp they have nasty motors in them. I would also put one up against the s in the twisties.

As some of the guys mentioned the new Evo does have 300+hp and it been rumored for along time before that that they did before as well. Plus they have AWD. Not for nothing but 240hp RWD is probably not ever going to beat a 300+HP AWD car. Unless the jerk behind the over priced 4 door civc doesn't know how to drive his car. I would have laugh at the guy and sent him on his way, but thats just me. However, time to time i do like to show all the liitle pocket rockets out there what my TL can do and they are left eating my dust.

As the new cars come out faster and faster you guys are going to be in more and more trouble. I undestand wanting to be the big dog and all but the writings on the wall boys.
Now try comparing roadsters pound for pound and and bang for buck, and we still have a hands down winner.
I guess stickin turbo's on is fun though and if I had cash laying around I would probably do it myself.

OK here we go i seen the same fag again and he came up on my ass real close so I switched lanes and let him go round then got on his ass lol he soon got stuck behind a car....I anticipated him to go round.....by the way this was right after I put my ricks header on so I now have cai/header/test pipe/invidia v3 exhaust. So when he did i followed we stay pretty close as far as me being behind him already till I missed third damn it!!! Also today theres a guy on base that has a stewie stock 07 we raced today I got the jump and he still stayed with me..... my car only has 19k on it how is this possible with the mods I have??????????????????????????? I heard some where on here that that stuff really wont change anything until you change fuel/air ratio is this true guys...

Bravo Chad.
Mos' guy'z would'a wimped n' neglected ta mention a missed shift. 'Jus' happens, y'know?
I think you're findin' out about a topic that comes up here often: how little extra is available through the use'a the simpler mods.
Engage the disclaimer cloakin' device Scotty: If ya ain't pullin' a good solid minimum'a 20 extra horses, it's still gonna be decided by the smoothest, most precise driver whut gets'izz picture took with the preddy ladies.
'Messin' with the fuel/air on an FI unit? That's fer the current wrenches n' not fer me.
Be well Chad,
Java
