Annual meeting

It is probably because I Googled here first, but I have been coming to this forum since buying my car in August. Once in a while, I look through the s2kca site though. Have had the impression it is a less technical site, with a few exceptions.

Anyway, noticed they are having their annual meet in San Francisco next year, which I am looking forward to. I have been disappointed that there have been so few meets up to now, at least on the West Coast. Until recently. I owned a '91 Lotus Elan. That car is far more rare than an s2k, but I got to know a handful of owners and their cars, within weeks of buying mine (local British Car Show). Too bad there are not events like this for S2Ks.I would really like to see what folks are doing with these cars. I think there is a lot more tech headroom for these cars than those little Elans.

At the risk of promoting forum treason, I hope some of you will make it to San Francisco next year too. I am buying the first round for any of you that make it.

I have already made plans to be at S2KDays 2009 in 'Frisco. SF is my favorite city I have ever been to.

As for meets, where in CA are you? I can get you a link to your local chapter of S2000s.

As for S2KCA, I find it to be more incompassing than S2000.com, but it is larger and not as mcu of a close knit community as this site.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

If you are looking for Bay Area drives, my friend hosts brentwoodconnect.com. Check out the car club forum for drives and get-togethers. They hit Napa and Sonoma and few other places. We did Winter Wine Tour '08 up there with them in February and had a blast on some great roads. Don't waste your time with S2KCA.

Great news Marlins. Let's make sure to get together when you are here. Do you know where you are staying? I have lived here a long time and know the City pretty well. Let me know if I can help.

Also looked at the Brentwood forum. I think I am more interested in the kicking tires (make that s2k tires) part than the group drives. Thanks tho.

Hey, thanks

I didn't look at the local forum. It is a lot more active than I thought. Very good, thanks!

What about the East Coast ? We have lots of things going on...Check on S2ki (and yes,S2kca) as well. The First Third Annual Monticello Mountain Romp and BBQ is set for Nov 21-23 in Charlottesville, VA. This will be combined with Fall Colors 08. All S2000 owners are welcome, we don't care which board you frequent as long as you like the car as much as we do. The Holiday Inn on 5th Street is the official HQ.
