I might go for a drive tomorrow. Or a bike ride. Need to do more miles.

Highway 2 is now open the whole way. Never done that before.

When you get to the hotel on Saturday morning, please let me know. I'm leading the first group out at 9:00am and you can join my group.

Banned for being "disruptive"? Sounds like the Iranian government. Who is the Ayatollah of S2kCa? That seals it.

Too bad tho. And I was hoping to see some other s2k's too. Owned this car for nearly a year and I have met only 1-2 owners. Pass S2k's all the time, flash the lights or wave, and rarely get a reply.

Old school I guess. We are all just driving Hondas, after all.

I don't know. Who has the better roads? I know they are good down here, but I've never done them up there.

I think you would like the roads up here, real twisty. I think Palomar is cool but Mullholland is SICK. I brought a fellow S2K owner on there fo the first time and when we got down to the bottom I never seen him smiling that big since I meet him.

I'm not hiding from anyone (though I admit to having a little fun with Vinny on a PM he sent to me over at S2KCA). This is Sondra, and I do think it might be time to let it go. It's been YEARS, and the entire leadership of the club has turned over since Vinny's departure. The people Vinny had issue with are all gone, so to call it a "shi!!y club" is a little unfair to the current leadership, who have done nothing to him, as well as the current members, who are absolutely innocent in this. It's been so long that I don't even remember his original quarrel with the club, but it's irrelevant. The reason REALLY doesn't matter, but I will say, without a shadow of a doubt, that some of the threatening, profanity-laced, uncalled-for voicemails I received from Vinny and Perry were bordering on, if not completely without a doubt, legally reprehensible, and they did nothing to better the club or improve the experience of the membership. It's one thing to disagree and to be upset about it, but it's quite another to threaten people and behave the way they did, especially since my ONLY crime in all of this was to question the bridges that were being unnecessarily burned in the name of an old grudge against S2Ki rather than seeking a diplomatic resolution. My concern then, as now, was that an event designed for no other reason than for the enjoyment of the car, is being overshadowed by personal issues, and that's a tragedy NOT for the board of directors of the club but for the members, many of whom are driving cross country for the event and are innocent in all of this.

Regardless of what club we're with or what site we're on, we're all, at a basic level, people who love this car and want to enjoy it with other people who also love the car. There are no hidden agendas: we aren't trying to best another club or be a top dog with our event. We're merely trying to put on an event that the folks attending will enjoy, and to disparage that is to tacitly say that you don't want the people coming to have a good time. There is so much crossover between S2KCA, S2000.com, and S2Ki that to deliberately try to torpedo that event means that you're trying to ensure that at least a few of your friends here don't have a good time, and that's kind of sad. It will be a really nice event, as usual, since American Honda has continued to support it with a very generous financial contribution, and we hope that all who come will really enjoy the experience. If we're all being honest here, I think even Vinny would have to admit that he had fun at the S2KDays he has attended.

I don't know what happened to Jonathon's post on S2KCA; I swear on all that's holy that this is the first time I've heard about it, but I know our current leadership and forum moderators well enough to know that the post wouldn't have been scuttled unless it had caused a problem or in some way devolved into a flame war. Merely posting an event that would be in conflict with S2KDays would not have been enough, since there is another event going on that weekend that is still on the forum and open for discussion.

Regardless, I hope that whatever those reading this choose to do that weekend is fun and an enjoyable experience with the car. In the end, that's really all that's important.

Interesting.... Whatever forum wars happened, it was before my time. Have been curious tho, about how dug in everyone seems to be about one forum over another. I wound up here cause there seem to be a few older dudes like me here, and I find interpretting Java's posts a healthy brain tease.

But I think Johnathan's point was not that he posted an alternate event, but only an alternate hotel to something out in San Ramon. If his post was pulled for that, seems pretty crazy.

Hey ess2Kay aka Sondra, or whoever you are I don't appreciate you coming over here and BASHING Vinny! He has an oppinion and if I'm still correct we have a flag that is Red, White and Blue flying over our heads, so freedom of opinion is a right! Don't drag your S2KCA problems over here, Vinny never went over there starting trouble, I guess he's a little more mature than you. Anyway I was trying to set up a meet that we ALL can afford and have Fun! So anyone that wants to help out with this in mind please feel free to post

HAHAHAHA....BUSTED!!! Sondrama at her BEST!! I would personally love to see whatever emails, voicemails (I have never had her PH# ever) she is accusing of me sending her that were legally reprehensible. Maybe Perry did this on his own, but not me. She wouldn't know the problem because she hardly was around at the time and was not part of the Board when it happened.

Back on topic...Chaz, I can do either Sept 19 or 26. Maybe we should make it a 2 day thing, one day San Diego roads, one day LA roads.

The only thing I would like to see is to do the San Diego roads on Saturday just because we know what to expect as far as traffic and COUGH! CHP patrolling from 8 - 10 AM.

I don't know what it is like up there.
