I've got a renewed interest in Indy since they merged the 2 groups. Maybe it'll be what it SHOULD be once again. I hope.

I'm sorry, did you say "44F" and "not even cold" in the same sentance? I know I'm from the desert where it hit 110F yesterday but doesn't water freeze just 12 degrees less?

He cut a totally inappropriate, juvenile post, making the 3 seem weird.

39F and sunny this morning in Yonderland.
3 layers required for roof down operation.

35 minute ride to the office was invigorating.

I found out today that the people at the gas station where I grab my morning joe, place bets on whether or not I'm runnin' with the roof open on any given day. Apparently this has been going on for years, and I'm just out of the loop.

Small towns folks, what are you going to do?

regards,
jagg

Indy ? Never heard of it.

I did watch some of the Danica Patrick 500, live from Indiana, this past Sunday. She had a look on her face like she might have swallowed her chaw.

I'm partial to Formula 1. Shorter races, better tracks, and much more fun to watch.

Jagg, you've got the potential to be that "wacky ole coot" that future generations will be talking about. Don't give up, a few different goofy hats and talkin to yourself loud enough for others to hear and you've got a lock on immortality.

Indy's better than it has been in 10 years, but not as good as it once was. They really need to allow the variety that existed at one time. The cars are now almost like spec racers. Tear some pages out of the rulebook!!!!!!

I agree.
It was the best Indy race I've witnessed in a long, long time.

'Godda go with the bug man. ('Att'z really neat how dual posts result in syncro'd bugz) In the old dayz it wuz not quite run-whu'cha-brung, but it wuzzn't far from it either. No-namez could bring in somethin' alien to the then current norm'n if thingz clicked, the norm got adjusted-to-taste next year 'roun'.
Granted, to compete takez more'n the simpler carz of yore, but, the no-namez've progressed with the timez'n some'a their creationz border on brilliant.
The Britton n' the V-8 cobbled up with the Hyabusa heads ta name'a couple, n' I'm sure there're many, more current effortz.
Budd'idd'izz whudd'idd'izz'n, it wuz an innerestin' race.
I'll second losin' a few'a the pages'a the rule book too Don.

Thus the reason for having Formula 1.

Here's the goal, meet it. I like this approach, and it promotes a more pure result within a given confine. (I built a better car than you did, and had a better driver slammin' her around said confine.)
It shows who's the best at coming up with the configuration that takes the race, at any number of truly challenging venues. At this level, it's a great achievement.......not the Danica P. 500. (still a real race, but not the same)

Jagg

There were tries at other engines. Olds V8s and others, like the turbos. But Offy was king. How can you go fast on 4 cylinders? Back then a properly set up S2000 might have been competitive.

So, thought I'd breathe some life into another North East thread and re-direct this one while I'm at it.

So, that being said, what's up with this NE weather? To much damn rain... Doesn't promote "Top Down in the NE"!
