Wake the Dragon
Ok, Batguano convinced me. He said it was the most fun one could have with their clothes on.
I just signed up for the Wake the Dragon S2K run. It starts 4/17 but I plan on arriving 4/18. I'm staying on Friday and Saturday and headed back north on Sunday. I'll probably leave NY Thursday. Any one else goin' from NE (no not Nebraska.....LOL) NY, NJ, or CT? PM me if you want to talk about it.

Thanks BB. I'm glad to hear that actually. I'm not going to prove my manhood or driving skills. Too old for that testosterone stuff, and anyway, been there done that. I'm goin' to meet other Stewie owners, and to see the country side.

No, it's a much smaller-scale thing than that. From what I gather, the Gumball is a 3000-mile rally held in all sorts of different countries. The Tail of the Dragon deal's just a run down highway 129 in the southeastern U.S. I'm guessing that the TotD meet participants are much less liberal with the speed limits than the Gumball guys, especially what with the heavy police presence on 129.

yeah the gumball goes from england to L.A i have done it once with a buddy of mine but dont expect it to be cheap its around 50,000 for someone new to it and an additional 10,000 for each person going with you. i went 2 years ago and it was amazing your money pays for entry and your stay at all the 5 star hotels along the way where they have insane parties and all you food and drinks are already paid for.plus one night we actually got to stay at a castle and yes there were a lot of police but over in europe they have respect for so if and WHEN you get pulled over you kinda just pay the ticket right there and go on your way with no 'points' but in the u.s you gotta be careful.it was amazing there was a guy who had a bentley gt that he had wrapped in a camo vinyl he carshed going about 120 boy was he pissed. if you have the money i would highly suggest doing it but be prepared to get a little lost and really frustrated it can get hectic if you have a shitty navigator with you my buddy jess and i ran it in a porsche 996 twin turbo that we had a company called RUF modify in germany so part of the race we had around 450 whp and after that we went up to 615whp and we also had two other friends follow in a van with spare parts so you have to be prepared to race here its definitely not for amateurs we had to pull over several times because of shit like flat tires[ran over debris from a crashing ferrari] and engine problems but if you have the means and the know how i would do it i plan on doing again some time soon

well the first thing they tell you is that THIS IS NOT A RACE but nobody ever listens to the chairmen they even give awards at the ending location when i did it the end was at the playboy mansion the award i got was team with most character because we helped a lot of people who needed it along the way plus at every night when everyone would arrive at the hotel we were supposed to stay at jesse and i would pretty much get to know every 'racer' and pretty much be the life of the party it was pretty cool its a gold bust of freaking burt reynolds from the movie cannonball run

Also, I may be from Nebraska, but someday when I have plenty of time and money to burn, I'm gonna take the drive down there for this. Not gonna be too many Stewie meets happening in Nebraska, and even if there were, we'd about have to go out to Chadron State Park to find a fun road to drive on and enjoy the scenery. That's about as far away from Omaha (where both of the other S2000's in Nebraska are, LOL) as you can get and still be in Nebraska, so that may even be a tough pull.
That does give me an idea, though... CSP would be an awesome place for a meet like that.
