Driving Gloves?

Since this came up in another thread and I was going to ask anyhow...

Who else uses them? And when (year round? just winter?)

I use 'em year round and not just in the S - I use them whenever/whatever I drive.

I have a pair and they are awesome. I use them on long drives so when I start sweating I still got grip.

http://www.leatherglovesonline.com/p...l1a-rs4100.htm got them from this web site.

Long drives in winter with top up or when it rains...

Oklahoma isnt to bad for winters... we have about a month or so of some blistering cold days... atleast one bad ice and 2 good snows a year. Then its back to the 50s. I miss the 80s best weather ever.

My daughter gave me a pair for my birthday, but they are the half finger type, which I really don't care for. What I do like is how it "grips" the gear shift. What I did find when I was out when it was cold, was when I rested my hand on the gear shift, my fingers were warmed from the heat coming out of the radio vents........hence I think I found the value in having those blessed radio vents!

I find the fingerless gloves to be a bit silly looking. Reminds me of some Ferrari type Romeo left over from the 80's. I have a pair of full tight fitting, slightly lined gloves that I wear during winter driving.

Nope, never and never plan to. Now wearing gloves to keep my hands warm while I drive is a different matter. That I will do when the top is down.

Wearing driving gloves to be wearing driving gloves? No, not until I start driving old British convertibles. Then I think it is required along with a scarf.

Yep I agree, but it was a gift from my daughter, so I am using them. I am expecting them to "wear out" quickly!

I have a great pair of leather gloves I got from my son for Christmas last year. They aren't driving gloves, they are ultra soft leather with a fleece lining.

Great for those cold fall/winter nights with the top down. I'm pretty hot blooded so it's not long before I have to gtake 'em off, but they're awesome. They sit in the secret compartment all year long, waiting for the cold evening drives.

RedFun, I think I know how you feel. I don't have any kids yet, but my sister once made my dad a peanut butter & jelly sandwich for work, many years ago. She wrapped it in tin foil, so needless to say - it was stale as hell by lunch time. Nonetheless, my dad "enjoyed" every last crumb of that sandwich. I guess he felt an obligation or something. Perhaps only you fathers out there would understand.

But yes....I'm definitely a fan of driving gloves in the winter. Full-fingered, very lightly insulated, very short velcro gauntlet, and black. Can't go wrong!

I wear tactified racquetball gloves made by Head when I do track days. I will also wear them if I am driving mountain roads with the top down in chilly weather. I don't wear anything otherwise.

I love wearing leather driving gloves. They used to be easy to find. Now, the best place to get 'em seems to be online.

We're ordering from the same place, just not the same glove. Better grip and better feel with these plus you don't end up with your finger tips tanned darker than the rest of your hand.

I read these posts with a just gawdawful envy. I cannot find gloves that fit! Sure I have huge hands, (4XL+) and leather is always the size it is tagged with, little stretching is possible unless wet. UGH! I will check out those links you guys have posted, but I wont get my hopes up till I know. And why have glove sizes been down sizing for several years now? Dropping by a +/- every few years! It cannot be that my hands are still growing? No WAY!

I wear a half helmet, old aviator goggles, and gloves when I ride my moped during the winter. Does that count?

Never wear gloves especially when driving.
Don't like the layer of fabric or leather between
my hands and the wheel/shifter.
Whether it is cold or not.
