Toyota FT-86

Hey what do you guys think of the Toyota FT-86? I think it's pretty sweet for the price. Heard it's also lighter than the S

20k sounds to good to be true, so its prolly not gonna happen. It would be good if it did tho, very bold move for toyota if they would do it.

Not bad, it sort of looks like a Tiburon.

I dont know about yall but from the side and front on shots, that front end reminds me of our stewies and that but reminds me of a 350Z. First thing I thought was "Woh. A S2000 and a 350Z had a baby o_O."

Am I the only one who sees the resemblance or am I just crazy?

Its a Jap coupe... im sure we could find a little of all their cars mixed into that. Its got a Subi motor which is awesome. It will be a quick machine and easy to upgrade.

Little bit of MR-2, little bit Corolla, little bit Hyundai. Probably (notice I didn't type prolly) based on the Corolla chassis, cheap interiors (in keeping with Toyota's sales stragegy) and (in production) woefully underpowered, if they do indeed, intend to sell it for around $20k.

It is expected that the Toyota and Subaru versions will be be styled similarly on the outside, with the Subaru version getting different head and tail lights and a different hood. It has a 2.0 liter boxer engine mated to a Subaru 6-speed manual transmission though it’s not mentioned if it is normally aspirated or force inducted. The concept is fitted with brakes from Advics, a joint venture company formed between Aisin Seiki, Denso, Sumitomo Electric and Toyota.

So a turbo awd version could be in the works. Toyota is overdue.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

It won't look like that for 20k, no way. It will look like one of those celebrity photos with the makeup off where they show some super hot female star walking around in public without her warpaint and you almost throw up.
Ah you want the car from the photo? Well that one is 29-33k.

No way they can give you S2000 engineering and build for 20K. I don't see it happening in this economy.
