Have a 6-1/2lbs brisket smoking right now, been smoking since 5:30 this morning. 8 people coming over in an hour for said beefy goodness, followed by us heading out on one of the guys boats new Clearwater to watch the fireworks from the water. Oh....and there will probably be quite a few tasty beverages consumed.

Hey Glenn that sucks you have to work, hope you get some good sales today. Yea I have been saving for a new T.V. it's only a 32" but it fits the room good. Pick it up at Walmart for $328. Almost got it for FREE! LOL! It was the only thing I was getting and I'm in line when the cashier told me to go to register 16 because she didn't have to tool to get off the security device. So I go there and they had to call the manager to do it. So after she took it off she started to walk me outside, I stop her and said that I didn't pay for it. She hit the roof! How did you get this far without paying! what cashier let you do this? I'm sure the cashier got in trouble but I had to pay for it.

Working out, driving the S around the Hill Country surrounding my house which shifts much smoother now with my new synthetic gear oil in the tranny and diff, cooking my workout food for the week, baking some D630 mother boards at 385 degrees for 8 mins in a toaster oven on the back porch to fix the MBGA solder issue (re-flow) works like a champ.
Slapping Win 7 images on the now fixed laptops so I can sell them...
Burning them in with Furmark...and some other boring BS.
4 days they give us off at work and I went back on Sat anyway.
I'll take extra pay, an extra workout and some time chatting up the coffee hotties over boredom any day. Plus I love my job and my lab.
Happy 4th social people. I think I will remain a nerdy recluse.

Nah, it's the same thing they do to them when you warranty them. They use a "reflow" oven and I use a "toaster" oven. One of the engineers clued me in to the process. There is a faulty design that leads to the input pins breaking over time and these breaks are extremely small fractures between the base and the lead solder than connects to the Micro Ball Grid Array on the bottom of the GPU. Anyway, it's a long story. I have several on the floor that have been working for a year now under heavy load without issue. You have to get the board hot enough to cause the solder to re-liquify which in turn causes it to "flow" into the fractures and the part is as good as new. AKA reflow oven. They are good to go my bro.
I burn them in for 24hrs with Furmark and then run SpecViewPerf 11 looping for another 24hrs. Aint no flim in this here flam.
DEVIL!

grilled burgers on the big green egg; had beans, cantaloupe, pickled cukes, sweet tater and regular fries, sweet tea. mighty fine eatin'.
took a nap.
drove bb a bit and started to change her oil, but it rained. she's in the barn, it'll get changed tomorrow.
sat on the porch and watched the storm and petted the outside cat.
read the declaration.
watched the twilight zone.
made devious plans.
no fireworks (saw 'em downtown on friday night) and no alcohol.
it was a good fourth. hope yours was good as well.

Just got back from a day on my friend's boat. We used about $600 worth of fuel, but it was worth it. Great weather and calm seas.

Cleaned, converted an old computer to a home server, made an offer on a house, then salad, corn on the cob, steak, champagne and chocolate mousse. Watched a movie to finish the evening.

Had the family over for ribs and home made BBQ sauce. Chicken as well. Watched fireworks from the back yard. Good day!

Had the entire housing development evacuated by the cops because some drunk Redneck intentionally set the ranch behind us on fire!
Thank God a random thunder storm blew up in time to put the fire out. Close to a 1000 acres went up in the blink of an eye. Would have been tens of thousands without the storm.

For the record.....being an innocent by-standed when someone else drops a lit M80 into an empty Heineken bottle and hurls it into the air, and you have shards of glass flying everywhere and all over you......testosterone has a tendency of taking over and emphatically and condescendingly telling said "dumbass".....well....how much of a dumbass he is.

Worked on the S all day while watching the smoker do its magic to about 20 pounds of ribs, grilled a bunch of corn and peppers...cleaned my hands and ate like a fool. Thunderstorm ruined the planned fireworks, but hey the 4th the 5th, the neighborhood did not care. Almost caught a tree on fire with a crazy rocket... note to self, always keep a hose handy so you dont have to run like a crazy person to put out tree.

I stayed at a safe distance because if I went over and mingled and the cops happened to show up, being the only adult present, I'd be arrested for providing alcohol to minors even though I had no part in their obtaining it.
