Jus' supposin' . . . . .

Okay, all this gloom n' doom about li'l Stewies impendin' demise, real r' imagined, is wearin' me down.
So, suppose our lives had never been enrichened by Ma Honda n' Stewie never made it down an assembly line. It was jus' a neat idea by some impractical nugai to the Honda design department n' maybe it didn't die on the drawin' board, but maybe got to a clay mock-up n' got smothered by the reality of today's business world.
Besides the fact that we'd never've gotten together on this site, we'd hafta come up with another form of wheeled entertainment.
Considerin' what's currently out there n' is reasonably within range of Stewie's price tag . . . what would'ja be drivin'?
Yeah, yeah . . I know. We all want Stewie. But, if Stewie never was, what brand n' model site would'ja be huntin' n' peckin' on instead of this one?
Be well.

I agree with Java. People are getting all worked up and I'm not exactly sure why. Its a car people. A nice one for sure, but just a car. Has its strong points, has its weak points. If it wasn't this it would be something different. I remember my Corvette days when I couldn't imagine life with a different sports car. Lo and behold here I am with a different sports car. It wasn't all that bad in the end. Love both cars for different reasons entirely.

Hell, the big block Cobras didn't need no forced induction. 'Least that's what I heard. This was told to me by some older gent.
Be well.

It's not just a car to some, the car hobby has been a huge positive impact on my life growing up and many other people I love all forms of cars and what people do to customize and restore them.

The automobile hobby brings people together, gets people thinking and working with there hand to build up and customize they’re cars, trucks or whatever…I don’t like to see the “S” go but everything has an and I understand that but you have to remember this site is for enthusiast for the S2000 so a lot of people will be sad to see it go and will come here to find people to relate too
Thanks, Morgan

no they didn't Java but Shelby made a few that had it set-up that way and they're some of the rarest cars...but I would settle for a 289 S/C version

Morgan, you jus' can't help yourself. 'Can't keep away from anything with a blower on it can'ya? Blown Toro lawnmowers, turboed hedgetrimmers n' a shaker hoodscoop on the Cuisinart. (Put the fun back inta yardwork) But, we sure share a healthy appreciation of Carroll's work pal.
I'm gonna get a razzin' over this, but if Ma Honda hadn't made the love of our lives, I think, for me anyway, I'd probably be runnin' a Miata with engine work n' alodda mods to it's suspenders. Probably.
Excuse me guys. I think I'm gonna go outside n' kiss my car.
Be well.

yes karnito it was it was the only one left out of two made

and Java I'm not a huge fan of super charging or turbos don't get me wrong they kick some @$$...but on anything I'm building I try to stay away from forced induction thats just me

the only thing that I've ever planned on super charging is my Dads dragger (but dragsters and forced induction go together like peanutbutter and jelly)

Shelby knew what he was doin'

I tried to buy a Z3 M Roadster in December of 01. They would not deal with me and wanted WAY too much money for a used one. After going in every day for about three weeks to look at it and drive it before my check arrived, you would think they would deal, but I guess it was just the opposite: they thought they had someone that would pay anything for that car. It had sat there for three months and sat there for another two after I bought my S.

I would probably have gone elsewhere to get a M Roadster if the S wasn't built. I also liked the Boxster at the time and they used ones were a decent price.

Now I would be looking at a C5 ZO6 or used Viper if the S wasn't made.

After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Interesting question JJ! Let's see, me thinks I'd go for a Studebaker Avanti.
Say what? Ok, just 45 years too late for that one!

Probably the G35 coupe.

I was planning on getting a MKIV Supra, but the prices of those things are pretty high and I'd have a hard time financing one.

yeah, that car was tolalled years ago and a British enthusiast bought it at a scrap yard and brought it back to UK and spent many years to restore it to the original condition, lots of research and hand made parts to complete the beast. It is quite imazing story. Have you seen the original shelby that he built for Ford? It is not much of muscle car but it was the car the spawn all the shelby after including the million dollars shelby. Yeap, he knew what was doing alright

I think I would have ended up with a 350z, Mustang Cobra, or a Audi S4. Those were the cars that were on my list at the time. I was so close to buying an S4 a couple weeks before I got the S, glad it worked out for the better.

Okay, so it appears that there are some other appreciators of ol' Carroll's work on site, so pull up'a chair guys, n' I'll relate you a story that I jus' told Morgan:
Carroll built a one-off called the "Lone Star 1" that was mid-engined n' slick enough lookin' to have caused ol' Enzo some sleepless nights, but didn't get alodda ink for one reason r' another.
'Car disappeared for some years (now pay attention here guys, if ever there was a lesson about payin' attention to what's goin' on aroun' ya) n' then, somehow wound up sittin' on a used car lot out aroun', I think, 'Frisco. Nobody was even sure what the @*#& it was. Some magazine writer caught sight of it n' did a story on it. By the time the story was published the car was already long gone. (I'm havin' that scary dream about the crate warehouse from Indiana Jones again).
'Ain't heard anything about it since.
Found one site that has one picture, but it doesn't do the car justice.
N', I'm with you on the Z06 Go, jus' don't think I could spring for it without a federal grant.
Dude, always liked Lowey's Avanti, but I'm a sucker for a sleeper. Did you know that you could'a got the same, (What was it? An R-3?) engine in the lowly Lark? Can you say ass-kickin' giant killer?
Be well guys.

Hmm

I'd have a hard time choosing between an S4, Corvette, Cadillac CTS-V, or a new Challenger. Love the G35s, but too many of them on the street. I've been itching for a Corvette forever, so bad in fact, when I pass by a Chevy Dealer, I look the other way. If I turn in, the S may be gone. This new Challenger really has me worried. Another car, and my wife will kick my ass.
