Just wave. What's really embarrassing is when I see an S and in all of my excitement I wave but have forgotten I am in the Insight.

I just wave at all the other S2000 owners. Only about half wave back (or don't see me at all).

Yeah. I usually wonder if they actually drive it, or, if it's jus' to impress the neighbors.
A special Stewie wave? Geez! I need'a @*#&in' drink. Be well. Java

This i like a big joke in my house, i'm pretty much all honda to the bone. But my wife just dont understand the hole thing. Well i finally got here to get a 06 civic when they come out so the joke is that theres a underground honda club and you must wave at all hondas. She doesnt in anyway beleive me but i make her wave when i'm in the car with her. While waving shes talking *&%T and telling me how stupid i am.Mean while i'm laughing my ass off in passager seat. Well just thought i'm would share that.

I always wave.
it should be a rule like the jeep wave. And when you pull up next to one at a stop light, a race is necessary. at least till the speed limit. |

My father bought one of the first MG TD's off the docks in San Francisco in the early 50's ($1100, cash on the barrelhead, he would say). We had TD's in the family for the next 20 years. Was the first car I remember riding in. Whenever we would pass another TD, each driver would casually raise an index finger above the windshield, generally expressionless. No reason to make a fuss, even tho it would only happen a few times a year. It was not a "we are number one" thing either, more like a tip of the bowler gesture. And it was not agreed upon in online forums. Just happened that way. Don't remember ever seeing one pass that did not do it.
I think flashing lights is okay. When folks do not flash back, I assume they are either disinterested or on the cellphone. At least we don't have the Prince of Darkness Lucas wiring to worry about. The lights will work. |

I bought a TD in 1952. Mine cost $2200. Back then all foreign cars waved at each other. There weren't that many.

$2200? Geez, did that come with a spare TD? Did you buy yours in a dealership? Either I have the price wrong or buying the car off the boat really was a good deal.

That was from the dealer. I was 19 and clueless. It was the first sports car I had driven and I had to have one. That was the only car I ever spun in.

A few weeks ago I encountered an s2k owner with an attitude. Same color an mine, Suzuka blue. I waved as I drove past him and he had a glare on his face like he wanted to kill me. When he pulled up next to me at the light I smile and say "Hey man that's a really nice car!" (our cars looked exactly the same except my aftermarket rims). He continues with the glare and says "Oh aren't you just the funniest guy?" I just laugh and he says "What year is yours?". I tell him I have an 03. Finally the glare goes away and he says triumphantly "Mine's an 06" and drives away. I guess not all s2k owners in Santa Monica are part of the family.

I think he was giving you the "V" sign for "V-TEC".

I point at them. Saw a BEutifull girl with long dark hair in an S stopped at a light. Gave her a point and she gave me a fantastic toothy smile. Kept me happy for days..

i arrived in richmond, virginia yesterday after an 8 hour plus, 530 plus miles. enroute to my in-law's i looked in my rear-view, as i am wont to do, and saw another bb, an AP1. we did not hand sign, nor did we flash lights, but we went through some minor twisties together. he knew--i knew. he parked on garrett, window half down. i got 29+ mpg and i did not baby bb. i only used the cruise control for part of virgiania on I-85. i cannot imagine what i could have gotten had i traveled at the speed limit with an extensive use of the cruise. there are some fine elevated freeways here with nice curves. if the weather clears, i will try them tomorrow and report back.
yours from ol' virginny, bb
