Where did the reference to "Stewie" come from?

I'm reading through the forum and keep seeing the S2000 refered to as a "Stewie". Where did that come from? Kind of cute, but what's the reason for calling it that? I also like "S2K" - very clever. The Butterpatlady

I think Java refers to the car as "stewie". Not sure how many others call it that. I always call it the S2K, or just "the S".

Now, I'd'a thunk a lady'd appreciate somethin' mechanical not bein' referred to with a feminine name for a change.
Livin' in a household where only me n' the dog godda lift the toilet seat, "Stewie" might'a been an unconscious effort at balancin' the male to female ratio. Maybe.
Jus' so long'z it don't offend nobody. 'Always hate when that happens.
Be well.

When I told my friend I was buying one he said youre getting a s-tewie so I kinda shortened it to stewie. Then java was saying it here so on here I just call it the s.

I tend to call it the S or S2000, just as I prefer to call my daily "The Acura", although Stewie is a nice name, even if we all know our cars are female
