Greatest TV Show - The Shield
I'm not a huge TV watcher other than sports and the History Channel, but every Tuesday night at 10 PM, my butt is planted on the couch to watch The Shield on FX. I haven't missed any episodes since I started watching in Season 2. I don't know what I'll do when the series ends in 2 more weeks. I'm not a big reality TV fan.
What are some of your favorite shows?

Barney Miller went off the air some years back ('think they pulled it because it was way too realistic) n' ain't been anything worth watchin' since. 'Yanked the antenna n' started readin' books.
Every once in a while I see some tube n' I ain't found anything (especially those "reality" shows) that's made me feel like I made a mistake. But, like so much, it's one'a those different strokes things, right? N' to be honest Vez, what I saw of "The Shield" looked like it could suck me into havin' to be in frunna the set every week too. I jus' don't wanna get back into that. Be well. Java

You're a brave man Java for pullin' the plug on the ol' tube ! Good for you.
Yes, TV is a big wasteland but some things are worth watching. My wife and I are fans of public TV. Throw in the History channel and we'll put away a few hours every now and then. Oh yes, I 'fes we're both Star Trek fans!. Can't say I ever watched the Shield Vezna. I wish the Speed Channel had more shows of interest. Forget Nascar!

Sears Best Heavy-Duty Whoops!
'Never even considered Discovery n' the History Channel Dude. If ever there was somethin' that'd have me sittin' unblinkingly in front of the tube, it'd be them two. Now you're startin' to see why I yanked the cable. I'd be the world's biggest (literally) couch potato. Be well. Java

tv shows/ Bike or S
Quote:
it's been quite a while since i've logged on. just been very busy. we have to make the most of our good new england weather. i guess it would have to be HBO's SOPRANOS and other specials. i'm somewhat spoiled with my hd tv and many movie stations. i do like the speed channel though. new topic: anyone ride a bike and have to choose between the s and your bike? i'll admit that it's a no lose decision, but tough sometimes, especially when it's cold in the am but you know you'll have a great ride home from work. i know some of you have bike's. let's here from you. |

Aaay Addict! Owyadoon?
'Bike's currently sittin' outside as the weather's been great, jus' replaced the rubber so it's grippin' ta beat the band, 40mpg's better'n 20 n', as much as I'm loathe to admit it . . . I've become what I always made fun of: a fair-weather rider (But, since gettin' Stewie, havin' to take the car ain't all that bad no mo'). But to properly serve such a topic, whyn'cha jus' start a new thread/topic? It's certainly a good one. Good hearin' from you again. Be well. Java

My tv's off right now but I'm really looking forward to the Star Wars special on Memorial Day. I think it's on the history channel. As far as regular tv shows, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, and almost anything on the discovery, science and history channel.

I watch a lot of TV at work, because I'm here for 8-16 hours at a time, and there isn't much else to do on my downtime apart from play on my laptop or watch tv.
I love most of the shows on FX, but my favorite would have to be Rescue Me. We watch it in here every time it comes on (partly because I work for the 911 dispatch center for Fire/Rescue, and most of us are either past or present firefighters, EMT's or paramedics). Other than that, I love Penn & Teller: Bullshit, Mythbusters, Deadliest Catch, Hustle, and Man vs. Wild. I also occasionally catch Attack of the Show if I see a new episode is on.
