Bye-bye S2000...hello something a little different.

I know it wasn't what I was originally looking for. But all things figured, it's really a very nice vehicle. My new daily driver is a 2003 Land Rover Freelander SE3. It's the 2 door, detachable hardtop model. Drives very well (which is saying alot, because I'm not huge on SUV's), interior is super clean, it's awesomely practical, stereo sounds great (all Harmon Kardon equipment), and is AWD.

But best of all, my goal to free up a little extra money was met with success. My car payments will now be almost $200/month lower than it was with the S2000.

Here's some pics.

Yes, I'm going to miss the Honda. It's a huge leap from a tiny 2-seat roadster to a big (to me anyway) SUV. But looking at the long-term, this was the right decision to make. Besides, I shouldn't be without a sports car for too long...

Best'a luck with it Scott. (I suspect that you're drivin' style will only change as much as is absolutely necessary with your new ride)
I'm hopin' that you'll still be droppin' by from time-to-time to give us an update (Never can tell when another of us'll be thinkin' about a Land Rover n' be lookin' for your 2 cents on it.)
Happy trails n' be well.

Very nice ride. Bet it can't corner with the S.

Good luck.

Haha, drives nothing like the S. It actually reminds me a lot of an Infiniti FX35, albeit with a little less power to the ground. Handles great for an SUV.

And don't worry, I won't be without a sports car for long. Got a new project on the way. Just gotta sell the Subaru first.

Not sure how you figure since it was designed by the actual Land Rover firm and released in Europe 4 years before the Escape ever hit showrooms...

They look like glorified escapes to me. I figured someone that went from a s2000 to that would have a sence of humor about it. I guess not.
