Bye Bye S2000.
frequent posters may know, my parents were going to let me pay for half of their S2000 monthly and it would be my daily driver because they are getting a new car. but now they want to trade the S2000 in and get me a RSX Type-S. I have no problem with this at all, but the S2000 has to go. both my parents and I will be saving some money through this deal though. the payment is going to be $300 and change instead of $500 and change. but i wont be driving the S anymore. my whole driveway is going to be filled with Acuras lol. Honda Pilot will probably be traded in for an RDX, S2K for the RSX-S, and for the new car we will probably be getting a TL Type-S. The s2000 was fun while it lasted. the deal may go down tonight while we go pick up the S2K from inspection.

Yeah on the school '03, but, somehow . . . I've godda real hard time sheddin' tears as part'a the equation is you with a new RSX. One'a those win/win situations.
However this plays out, best'a luck with whatever you wind up with the keys to. Aaaay, the folks'd wan'cha ta be the most able driver you could be, right? Think'a how much your odds for survival increase with a more capable knowledge'a howda handle whatever it is you're drivin'. Hell (No! Siddown Morg!), you sell 'em on it good enough n' they'll likely be attendin' too. (Not at the same time a'course. Totally uncool.) Be well n' good luck. Keep us posted. Java

2003-2005 Civic SI or base RSX? 160hp, 5sp, one's a hatch, one's an RSX. Both cheap to mod. Neither as quick as the rsx-s or s2k, but stays in the honda family.

best suggestion-----start with a list of cars you think you want, and within your price range. Then, get some seat time in each one of them, before you make your decision. Take mom or dad with you, or nobody's going to give you the time of day. you might want to leave the negotiating part of the purchase up to somebody who's been round that bend in the road before, ya know? as far as suggesting what kind of car to buy.....ideally something that's reallly good on gas, front wheel drive (considering you live in pa), and as new and with the lowest milage possible; preferrably with a quality, longer term warranty from the manufacturer of the car. the rest is up to you. 16 to 17 grand to spend on your first car huh? i spent $300 on my first one, and layed under it once a week for a year. sorry, but i've gotta agree with Java that i won't be shedding any tears over what kind of car you weren't able to get your hands on. You're lucky kiddo, compared to 99.9% of the rest of the world........try to remember that. Sorry, didn't mean to sound so parental there.... good luck and keep us posted . regards, jagg. |

Beware of VW's electrical problems. Make sure the car you test drive has every electrical part working right. VW's are a fun car to drive but they have thier problems and can be a service shop magnet.

what the heck is "tokyo drift"?
is that some kind of reference to volcanic islands and their propensity for constant change? kinda like "hawaii drift"? regards, jagg. |

It was the latest Fast and Furious movie where some guy went to Japan and got into it with the drift mafia and used a late 60's mustang with a Skyline GT-R twin turbo engine and trans in it. Other guy had a RX7(forgot, maybe a Supra) and they fight over a bimbo, you know, the same lame story lines the rest had. They are going to make a fourth one now. |
