0 to 60 in 4.2 sounds good and a 12 second quarter mile is respectable, but 132 miles per hour? NOT WITH ME IN IT!!!!!!! 'Course if it rolls over, it might just roll back up on it's wheels, or it might just keep rolling and rolling and rolling............

'Lookz like the escape-pod for a B-70.

An unusual Ford
This car is cool, even if it is a Ford. Note the "unique" rear axle..........

We'd picked up (the family) a brandy-new '64 Scatback so they've alwayz held a place in my heart. Jus' recently found a nice'un out PA way. 'Took picturez n' somehow deleted'em. 'Figurez.
But this'un'z a surprise ta me. 'Don't sit like the ol' family-Java '64 'at'z fer sure. I'd heard about Ivo'z gettin' dusted but wuzzn't aware whut it wuz whut dusted'im. You guyz go out n' come back with all this really neat *#&. I go lookin' aroun' n' come up with garagez full'a dusty n' properly-aged Mary Kay. Java

In a feeble attempt to resurrect the "Old Timers"..........
Interesting car by Harley Earl. Obviously a Buick, it's called the Y Job, but the year is a little surprising. Wanna guess? By the way, I saw this car in the Henry Ford museum, along with the Mako Shark and several other GM creations. Hmmm.....I guess they couldn't find any unique Fords (yes, that was a shot).

Close Bat, but no cigar. What kinda threw me is the front end looks like the Buicks of the late 40's, but the back end looks like the Auburn/Deusenberg boat tails of the mid 30's. BTW, this is one of the first "concept cars" out of Detroit and sadly never made it to production.

Ford didn't need concept cars back then, as they were all ready way ahead of their time with their production models. Who is this Harley Earl you speak of? ha ha
here, have an interior shot of that 1938 Buick. yjob.jpg |

That is correct, sir. Built in '38, made the show tour and retired to a warehouse. You are apparently very knowledgeable concerning GM, obviously one of your finer traits.
You win your choice of either a Chevy Bowtie tattoo (DIY kit) or this fine photograph, inspirational and suitable for framing.

Porsche pictures
Someone sent me pictures from a 356 meet, so thought I'd post a few. The Spyder is the car the Boxter was modeled after. Note the 911 engine shoehorned in to the 356 body. The yellow convertable D looks like the one I owned. The silver speedster is lighter than mine was.

Great shots Phil
I recall seeing something about a company that builds replicas of the Speedster with a little more powerful drive. Ever heard of that?

They make fiberglass replicas of just about everything of interest. I think you can buy the speedster as a kit. There is a classic car magazine that usually has ads but I'm having a senior moment and the name eludes me.

I had a bathtub Speedster and a Cabriolet. Taking the top of of that thing was an exercise in brute strength. I used to go through splined rear axles like crazy. I bet I bought everyone from every junkyard on the East Coast. Loved the cars, hated the (lack of) heater (and wish I still had both of them now).

For you Chevy guys
It doesn't give the guys name, but he sure likes convertibles. Not one
hardtop in the collection. This guy lives in Ankeny , Iowa . He has lots of toys including his own 18 hole golf course, which is some what copied after Augusta This guy started from scratch and is now just a little behind Oprah, but I'm sure he will overtake her net worth in the next couple years. This is what you call a REAL Chevy guy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
