Been discussed in the past, along with the other common names.

Took out the link because it wasn't working. Re: Sonic's comment below

I am a new S2000 owner and asked the same question on another site. The only response was something to do with, S-Tew-, and then it adapted and mutated to Stewie. Don't know if this is correct, but I was amazed that out of all the S2000 owners and members, the amount of times I read, "Stewie", and noone knows for sure.

And see my thinking is that a car (especially such a beautiful one as the s2k) should always be names a girls name. Where is Java on this? I know he must know the anwser to this.

My 03 was Sindie. My 07 hasn't told me yet. The name, however, is about world domination...

Now see? I never knew 'bout that little heavy-lidded, football headed guy until you guys told me. 'Learn somethin' new everyday.
S-2 with a nicknameish "ey" on the end'uv it.
Used it, liked it n' it kind'a got picked up. (Hell! I post so much . . how could it not?)
Be well,
Java
Agree with yer assessment'a beauteous thing'z bein' female-named Sonic.
But in a world where Carroll'z a guy'z name (I really hope I don't godda explain), n' Charlie'z a girl'z name . . . whut'z ta say "Stewie" ain't all kind'z'a long-haired, fine-featured, shapely n' geddoudda@*#&in' town all feminine-like? Y'know?

I've found that what ever the ride, ya gotta give 'em a name. They work better when they have a name. I figure Stewie is like a last name. Gotta give 'em a first name too. Hence my "Baby Stewie"

Best Regards
Pablo

Well Karen, that is quite a quandary, considering the gender of it's (for the time being it's an "IT"....LOL) owner...........Best as I can tell though, cars and boats gotta be female.

Best regards

Hell, even hurricanes can't be jus' female anymore. Some suit probably got paid alodda our tax dollars ta figger that some storms were guys. Whudda ya figger he done ta determine that? 'Looked up their skirts?
Dunno Sonic, maybe J.Alba should be checkin' the S2000 out n' changin' 'er name ta Stewie.
It's funny though, 'roun' Casa Chaos (Javaland) Stewie'z referred to as "the Honda".
Go figger, right?
Be well,
Java

Just to clear this up............

Like boats, all S2000's are built as females and should be given appropriate female names. The "male" option package is rare, special order and factory installed. It can not be installed at the dealer or by a shadetree mechanic. If you suspect you have a male car, check the sticker to see i
