I had that happen a couple of times and I think I narrowed it down to gas. I quit buying at my corner store and started sticking to Techron (no intentional plug, it just worked) and haven't had that happen since. Search the threads here, there are lots of potential reasons, but that's what worked for me. When I got lazy and got local gas, I stalled out at stops, and when I made an effort to always get good gas, I stopped stalling.

Hey s2k01, I figure taking the slack out of the throttle would have the opposite effect on the idle, if any at all.
There are many reasons why this might be happening. Take a good look around the throttle body, and make sure nothing obvious looks out of place. Beyond that, you'll need some real diag to find out.
