Good one . I've seen a lot of animals get onto tracks before but not one of those!!! I think that would break your concentration.

If you're lucky enough to slide and you've got enough cowhide wrapped around you there's a good chance you'll walk away. But when you start tumbling and your extremeties are pointin in unnatural directions, things get ugly.

Amen ta that Don.
'Speakin'a that ol' standard biker-wear, cowhide:
Some time back they ran abrasion testin' on various materials used for biker-clothing n' race-suits. Bar none, Kevlar, Ballistic Nylon n' anything short'uv unobtanium n' steel couldn't hold a candle to good ol' cowhide.

It'll protect ya real well in'a slide, but you go allowin' any appendages ta stick oud'a the "ball" n' all the cowhide does is make it easy fer the corpsmen ta find the body parts.

gave up motorcycles and parachutes a long time ago. in my old age i see i was wise. now i have almost given up beer, wine and liquor. i am looking sage again. funny, i don't look that smart.

and i have a powerful fear of venomous snakes.

'Still love the bikes, but I godda tell'ya . . Stewie's totally replaced the bikes when it gets cold.

Snakes, yeah. I can un'nerstan' venomous snakes, but with me it's always been sharks. Frightful scary critter'z sharks.
Too many hours floatin' in big water thinkin' 'bout whut'z down'ere lookin' up at me on'a surface goin' hmmm-m-m-m-m-m, y'know beeb?

i have seen a couple of bike crashes up close and personal and it was not pretty. knew a guy with the classic below the knee amputation from where a drunkard turned left in front of him. and the ocean...don't like swimming in it. i know what you mean about thinking about what's down there. to paraphrase somebody: " i don't like it when i'm not at the top of the food chain." last time i went swimming was in jacksonville in the atlantic with my wife...something bumped her, and brushed her leg, and left a slimy mess. no idea what it was. i think it scared me more than her.
