'Sumz'itt up pretty good SM. When I took one out I wuzzn't too impressed with it as a driver'z car either, pretty much fer the same reasons.
I particularly enjoyed his view'a whut American driver'z want in'a car.
'Wish I could argue with 'im.
When I checked it out there wuz a partner vid with it of a Stewie n' a 350Z mixin' it up on a course. I won't blow the punch-line for anybody by givin' it away, but it's interestin'.
Thanks SM.

The 350Z in that video isn't the same as in the top gear video. If you look at the s2000's wheels they're from like the 2007 model, so obviously, the 350Z is a new model. i think its the touring edition, the one with the beefier suspension and all that. The wheels on it look like the touring editions.

I hear ya Java I cant think of an american car that is a good driver. I dont like the cars we make reason why I went with Honda. Its just good to know that some of us in the states are real drivers and not ones on big movable couches.

I've never driven a z. I don't want one, cause everyone has one like the new wrxs. The s2000 is basically already a collectors car cause they didn't make a ton of them.

btw, I found a funny chinese clip of the 350z after watching that video. Its like a fast and the furious knock off.

I'll tell you we were car shopping and settled on an 07 Z convertible. I forget what trim level..mid i suppose. I loved the thing. That car plainly was not an 07 or up standard tranny monster like the one I drove. Had Nissan been willing to give me a few more then 60 bucks off for a leftover I would be posting this in a Z forum. Glad they didnt.
Ultimately I believe the S2000 to be the superior biscuit, for me. I am much more comfy owning the Honda then the outrageously complicated Z. The Honda is more of what we wanted..a Sports car. The Z is more of a Japanese mustang to me. I've had MG's Triumphs, Fiat spyders etc and the S is a continuation of that and certainly the queen of that fleet.

I've been a Z-Car fan for a lot of years. The guy in the video is like Bill O'Reily...it's his show and he can say what he wants, even intimidate his guests.

There are many who like the Z cars. I liked the 77/78 series (still sports car, before they gained weight for the luxury market). My last one was quite pristine. They are typically very reliable, quick, handles well (with a few minor mods).

When I was involved with the Z-Car clubs, most were very disappointed with the design (inverted bath-tub) of the new Z. It's a great drive train and handling, but the look was disappointing.

...Just another viewpoint.

My S2000 is a great replacement though...

you are quite right about the host of the show. but, i can have my opinion too. arrogance is unattractive. he knows where he can stig it.

neil, i didn't realize you had the s.a.d. i will try to be a little gentler in my critique of these british tv journalists. i am having bangers for brekkie, but no mash. that guiness thing is a problem. ain't nothing wrong with you that 200k in an s2000 and a couple of pints wouldn't cure.

Mike I quite agree with you there about the older models. Personally I like the looks of em. Even when I was broke I was looking at buying one. But the newer model is just awful. Im not even impressed with the motor they have 3.5liters to work with and can only get 300hp out of it? I think we should give it back over to the right Jap we know they can make cars. (Just wish they would stop trying to make it "The little racer for everyone" a racer is the S2000 anyway....

So what you're sayin' is that,

Java's in the basement, mixin' up the medicine.
I'm on the pavement, thinkin' 'bout the government.
Man in a trench coat, bad job layed off.
Says he's got a bad cough, wants to get it paid off.
Man in a coonskin cap, in a pig pen,
wants eleven dollar bills , but you've only got ten?

or something to that effect?
