Even though this is a first generation, its not acceptable. I think and hope the s holds up way better than this "thing" did.

Those "thingz" done a whole lodda gettin' 'roun' long before Stewie wuz an itch in some Honda suitz pants, n' a whole lodda gettin' 'roun' since D1. Hell, the Miata'z prob'ly be comin' off the line (assembly) long after we're scramblin' aroun' for discontinued Stewiez n' partz.
Considerin' the number'a MX-5s that're out there n' the calibre'a driver that'z usually pilotin' 'em (Like any other marque, most drivers ain't too @*#&in' capable.) the fact that there isn't a warnin' campaign goin' on would seem to indicate that this isn't a common occurrence.
Sides . . more'n likely it's jus' some short designer'z response to bein' made fun'uv by tall people one too many times.

(Godda admit D1, some'a the crash n' dumb driver videos on that site had me fallin' oud'a my chair laughin'.)

Ya payz yer nickel, ya take'z yer chances.
That looked more ta be a slow biker crossin' too close in frunna the truck n' windin' up so close ta the truck that he wound up in the area'uv the driver'z vision reserved for "pavement-I've-already-covered".
Literally.

Yeah, Im pretty sure you beat me. That looked like a very painful way to go.

My brother was recently involved in a motorcycle accident about 3 months ago. He was driving and a minivan decided to switch into his lane with him in the way. Thanks to defensive driving, he had to jump the median and wrecked his bike. He was only going about 35 miles an hour, but his helmet and jacket saved his life. Even with the jacket, he had cuts all along the side of his body. The helmet held up decently, but you could tell it took most of the impact. If he wasn't wearing it, he'd defenately be in a coma or dead. Thank god for safety standards.

The Two Wheeled Mantra is: "It's not IF you will go down, it is WHEN". Having ridden two wheelers for 40 years I'm not unfamiliar with their joys and and dangers. I guess I've hit the pavement at least 10 times over the years. Most were just gravel rash, a few were "damn, was I lucky". Stewie seems so safe in comparison I don't even wear my helmet.
