hi mate
I don'T know what you call "vtec timer"
if you are asking about vtec controller
a friend of mine just bought an APEX-i VAFC (I might be wrong about the code)
he told me that it doesn't make much difference on the standart cars
coz even if you open the Vtec at 4000RPM there won't be any power there you might need a camshaft

I don't have much information about this car I bought my S2K in the end of august

VAFC is the simplest solution to changing the VTEC engagement point. BTW, can you elaborate on what the S2000 "GT" is?

so S2000gt is just a marketing strategy to sell it with hard top?

I couldn't find any info about BTW. which brand is it?
what is the difference between BTW and VAFC?

Yes its a marketing strategy

If you are looking for a V-tech controler the VFAC2 is a good way to go it is easy to use, now power gains you will not see much, you don't have that many opotions as you might some other tuners, the one prob with a VFAC2 is when you take out fuel it also takes out timing very difficult to tune a boosted car like that now for stock it is not that difficult. If you are looking to get real power out of a tuner I suggest AEM EMS or Hondata they both my great products, I have seem stock s2ks make 30 hp with the AEM EMS. Just depepnds what your looking for really.

you mean this?

are you sure?
I have seen this EMS only in one car which is a turbocharged civic B16A engine

I'm not really sure if it will give +30hp for a stock engine

Thats what they claim I mean I can't say that I have seen it done in person there are a few cars in my area with the EMS and they make great power, I have seen hondata on a Bolt on RXS type S and it made 25hp with hondatas base tune.

Ive had both the apexi vafc 1 and 2. i likes the 1 alot better than the 2. i think its really all a personal choice. you can find an aem ems used for about $1000. and they are very very nice. you can get hondata for about $1000 new and its very good also. i wouldnt want the ems cause id have to carry around a laptop in the 'not so roomy' s2k
