So today we (Mama Java'n yourz truly) made a run up'ta lovely CT country.
'Filled'er up on leavin', purposely drove in a fuel-efficient manner, acceleratin' gradually'n doon all'a stuff whut'z supposed ta make fer high mileage. 26.5.
That'z the last time I waste time tryin'a get good gas mileage. Too much trouble fer too liddle resultz.

Few miles out I wuz set-upon by whut looked like a white Neon with this bodacious curved "spoiler" on'izz trunk. 'Thing sounded like a steam-Jenny continually blowin' it's safety valve. I'm guessin' it wuz turboed'n he wuz tryin' to impress us with how fast he could run up the ass'a the traffic in frunn'a him, which he kept doon over'n-over ag'in. Not the sharpest tool in'a shed this fella.
If there'z a site for steam-Jennyz, I imagine'at he's postin' about how bad he beat a Stewie today . . over'n-over.

Then there wuzz'a Mercedez somethin'r other that we ran about 35 milez'r so with. Phil would'a liked this guy: smooth.
We swapped back'n forth'n I felt real comfortable runnin' with'im after havin' watched'im fer awhile.
Class act: no unnecessary bobbin'n weavin', I don't think I saw his brake lightz go on once as he anticipated the traffic patternz in frunn'a him'n'izz speed wuz good, but as it wuz continuous'n smooth, he didn't draw much attention. Hiz attentiveness also let the go pedal up when we approached likely areaz where bluemen could jump out'n yell "surprise!".
Ain't much chance that the gent'll be readin'iss, but, fer the record: today I wuz pretty impressed with the drivin' abilitiez'uv a Mercedez guy. A very definite driver wuz'iss bloke.

Jav, ya godda get 'er ouda 3rd gear to get third good gas milage. Runnin' 'er to 8K in third ain't the way to go! Try 45 miles per hour in 6th.

And, you found a proficient Mercedes driver?? Damn.......were you in the Twilight Zone there in CT?

My younger brother and I drove to Beverley Hills, CA, today in my S2K. There were so many Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Bentleys, Aston Martins, and Maseratis there that I lost interest in buying one.
Three guys in three separate Lotus Elises were speeding and revving their cars when they drove past us, as if to ask me to race them. I obviously didn't.
Later, my bro and I drove over to Pacific Coast Highway, which I heard/read about being really fun to drive on, but I realized that with so many people driving so slowly there and random people driving extremely fast in their Ferrari F430s, Pacific Coast Highway is a road you should travel on if you want to be bored for 30 minutes straight.
We also saw a really good looking Bugatti Veyron 16.4, a Ford GT, and an Audi R8. We went into a Mercedes-Benz dealership and took a picture of a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
Even though I saw all sorts of attractive supercars and exotic cars today, it just made me appreciate my Honda S2000 even more.

I love to drive the P.C.H., just fit in with the flow of traffic, lighten up on the throttle and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. The CHP monitors this stretch closely, because there is the occasional ijit flying along and lots of people running around.

The car can be enjoyed on several levels. I have my fun in the twisties. Had a BMW trying to shake me on Mullholand. I just followed at a respectful distance (helps protect from flying rocks being kicked up). He finally pulled over and let me by to play. I'll risk only my own butt on a clear road.

As owner of CT, I decree that you and the bride are not allowed to visit my fair state without fair warning. Maybe coulda worked in a visit.
Actually we went for a boat ride. Wow what a fine fine day.
Now saturday not so good. Out racing a small fast boat, hit with 50 knot thunderstorms lightning eveywhere zero visibility hail, spinnaker under the boat and pinned for 15 minutes. Along with 30 other boats.
But we lived. Far as I know everybody did, but tons of distress calls.

I pounded 100 miles yesterday, in the cooler than normal August sunshine.
I topped off first thing in the morning, and used nearly 1/2 tank of fuel for the 100 miles. I was floggin' it on the mountain roads for the most part.
My 3 mile ride last evening from my regular haunt to home, turned into 45 miles. I couldn't resist. It was a great evening for driving.

I went hunting a few weeks ago and bagged my limit of grits. They are clever little rascals. They hide in the most unusual places. Trouble is, the 5.56 MM makes a mess of them. Hey a mess of grits....that's what I needed.
