(Stock) S2000 stats

I always read different information about the S2000. Some magazines claim the S2000 does 0 - 60 miles per hour in less than 5.5 seconds, while other mags claim the S2K does 0 - 60 miles per hour in 6.6 seconds. I am confused about that, so since I cannot accurately test my 0 - 60 miles per hour at all times, I want to know what you all believe are the actual stats of the S2K.

0 - 60 miles per hour:
Quarter mile:
0 - 100 miles per hour:
Top speed: (is it 155 or is it 160?)
60 - 0 miles per hour:
100 - 0 miles per hour:

I have read that the official Honda 0-60mph time is 6.2 seconds. I also have Evo Magazines review of the car in 1999 and they hit 60 in 5.5 seconds.

There are no "set in stone" numbers for any car.

Yeah, I know that, but what are the averages?

I read in some magazine that the Honda S2000 CR does 0 - 60 in 6.0 seconds; in some Kelley Blue Book video on youtube.com, the narrator of the video exclaimed the S2K CR does 0 - 60 in 6.3 seconds; in some "New Car Guide 2008" magazine I read a while back, the S2000 CR's 0 - 60 was rated at 5.4 seconds...

Those are the times listed for the S2K CR, but since I don't own one, I am curious about what the regular S2000's stats are.

Also, by the way, I have also read that the S2000 CR is basically just an S2K with a body kit and tuned suspension. I understand that there are literally no engine configurations done on the car.

The engine in the CR is identical to the "regular" S2000 model.

As I stated already, there are a bajillion factors that contribute to 0-60 times. Drivers, cars, environment, etc. are all different in nearly any situation.

I, for one, think 0-60 times are useless.

If you want to find out how fast YOUR car is with YOU as a driver, just take it to your local track.

LOL, because it's a manual transmission, different driver gets different timing. I wouldn't be suprised to see the timing fluctuated. Why do you care about those useless stats anyway?

I haven't gone to a local track, but in a secluded area, I got the S2K to do 0 - 60 in about 5.6 seconds. I believe that is incorrect, though, and it can be better if I do go to a track someday.

The highest I have driven my S2000 was 148 miles per hour.
I'm not sure what my quarter mile rating is, but it is not bad for a stock S2K.
I haven't tested 60 - 0 or 100 - 0.

Some of my friends always brag about how quick their cars are, and I can't contribute to their bragging with my own stats because I have never seen any valid stats on the S2000's performance.
I don't really care, but it'd be nice for me to get an average.

How exactly did you "calculate" that?

If you really are the "high and mighty" driver you claim, you should have no problem trapping in the triple digits and netting mid 13 run.

Get your buddies together and head out to a track or do some autocross. Just don't do anything to risk anyone else's life.

This is not a 1/4 mile car, it really performs in the twisties though.

My cousin was in the car with me. He had a stop watch and he stopped it dead on 5.70 seconds as soon as I hit 60 miles per hour.
I don't claim to be a "high and mighty" driver. I really do need to learn a lot more about cars before I can claim such a thing. I consider myself to be a "talented" driver when it comes to teenagers with sports cars, but that's a whole different thing compared to someone who is called "high and mighty".

What do you consider "talented"? I've been daily driving this car for ~4 years, much of it with double or more the horsepower of your car, and I don't even think I'm a talented driver.

Being able to handle tough situations where other drivers would definitely crash; being able to know your limits and not exceed them to entertain others; being able to control the car at whatever speed you are travelling at; being able to drift/drag/etc, but not needing to prove it...
IDK. It's my opinion against yours. If you can do whatever I just stated, then you're a talented driver in my book.
I'm sure my opinion about that does not matter, though, so whatever.

I would never do that! Youtube is filled with vouchers. Anything anyone posts is turned into some sort of racist/"my-car-is-better-than-your-car"/b.s discussion that I do not want to contribute to.

(Also, I don't have a video camera that can upload videos to the computer...)

I can take pictures, though, which is a +, but I'm not sure if that will prove that I know how to swerve past an oncoming car at 100 miles per hour (which I do not consider "talent".. Just stupidity).

Stopwatches aren't accurate because the person pushing the buttons is never gonna get it perfect. Could be off up to a .75 seconds. Even the Apexi meter designed to get 0-60 times and 1/4mile times is off by up to .5 seconds. Best way to find out is to go to the track.

No, you little piece of sh*t. I am not just posting that. I have been trying to avoid that discussion, but @$$holes like you keep bringing it up. B*tch, the only reason I mentioned it here is to point out my personal stats with my stock S2000.
Either contribute positively to this thread or just get the f*ck out. You're nothing but a post whore who will just not stop f*cking bugging me. Everywhere I post, you must post, too. You're pathetic.

Sure, I'll agree with that.

But I also think a talented driver should follow the laws (MINOR speeding is understandable at times, 148mph on public roads is just rubbish).

I do follow the law most of the time. It's rare for me to speed a lot.

Back to the original question.

The reviews I've seen for 60-0 were 109 feet.

Both reviews I've seen that included top speed listed "electronicly limited at 150"

If you want accurate results for the acceleration numbers, pay your money, take it to a track and get legit times for your driving style and car. If somebody else runs faster than you on the same day in a similarly configured car, then you know either his tune or his driving is better.
