Lotus Elise
Looked out front today and found an elise parked at the curb. Looks a lot better in person. Still think the front is overdone though.

'Alwayz felt that the whole thing wuz a bit too PowerRangerz. They could probably curb another 50 lbz. off'uv'itt if they jus' did away with some'a the unnecessary nookz'n cranniez.
Though, it'd be a great piece'a landscape durin'n Easter Egg Hunt.

I remember reading that the test driver for Consumers Reports was testing one on the track and it broke in half.

My friend let me drive his for a good part of the day a long time ago. Despite being somewhat ugly and looking like it came from outer space, it is a very fun car. The build quality isn't quite as good IMO, but it's definitely a driver's car. (even more so than the stewie)
Definitely wouldn't mind one as a track whore had I proper funds. The S makes a much better daily driver though.

They are nice cars. My buddy has one and it is extremely hard to get in and out of. There is really nothing to the interior trim and it has no power anything. It feels like a drivers car which is very nice. I will say this about it though, we raced eachother when my car had nothing but an intake and he couldnt keep up. yes the car weighs almost nothing but our cars make a good bit more power and when the vtec kicks in its over! Thats honda engineering for ya!

If there was any other affordable street/track car I would buy, it would be the Elise. I've loved the look ever since it was re-introduced in '99 or '00.

It was on my list when I was car hunting but I just couldn't justify the extra $20K for an even less practical car. Very fun to drive and the new one with the Toyota engine is quicker than the old Rover engined cars. Some guy around here has a punpkin orange one that I've seen a couple of times.

Lotus Elise? I'm sure the car probably runs well, but I believe this was the inspiration for the designer..........

Top gear did a show on the general acceleration of the Lotus including the s2000 from 0 to the finish line on an old airstrip. The Lotus sped off really good from the s2000 but the s2000 caught the Lotus and passed it.

The Elise'z acceleration'n top speed may've been impeded by Easter Eggz if nobody properly prepped the car before the run Neil.
Also could be that that much ugly piled up over the front suspension might be adversely affectin' the performance juju'a the car. Oh, Don . . I'll agree with yuh on the type'a critter, but I think yuh jus' had the wrong feller. ![]()
